It's a different tactic I employ now to get more and more people comfortable in doing their own simple quick research versus extreme spoonfeeding. It's a thing that some people ask for recommendations and when offered, they ask more questions about said recommended device without realizing that the answers they seek is already available through a single search and so rather than waiting for generic answers to generic questions. As for view quality in the rain. You can check YouTube videos. Personally, I won't expect much especially as the cams will be behind one's windshield and as we all know clarity during rain, heavily depends on the view out of the windshields. Wipers and glass no good, makes image blurry.. There are no cheap sensors and on-the-fly/post-processing that can help. I say cheap cuz the really good capable tech will obviously be quite expensive and won't make profit in the mass market today. This ain't some CSI TV episode where characters say enhance and magically the blurry cropped up image becomes UHD..   So have to manage your expectations and remember that most times, both your car and the other plate number are moving images, not still and centered. There's no magic in science. Just best efforts.

Actually, to get Thinkware or blackvue is not just look at the video quality alone.

You'll need to see the overall package. Korean dashcams is famous for their durability, auto parking mode, ADAS, capacitor, etc.

If you want a good budget dual dashcams, look at the mini0906 as it's also using Sony Starvis sensor and capacitor.
