Locally got sellers selling iRoad, Blackvue, and Thinkware. Got a few more brands. But prices for Korean dashcam starts from rm1k and above.

iRoad and Blackvue stock are from Singapore while Thinkware has an authorized distributor in Seremban.

Just bought last week Blackvue DR590W dual ch.. so far so good.. i liked the parking mode and its minimalist design. The video quality is Ok.. not the best. wanted to but the DR750 but the cloud option is quite excessive for me..

If I understand this, it’s like viofo parking mode will only start recording AFTER it detects the motion thus may miss the video of what cause it?
This is what I’m afraid of, battery drain 😰 I guess have to keep this feature off for now
*
I'm not sure if you already mention this but, have you instal a MagicPro?

As far as I know, a dashcam.that uses capacitor is better. also with cut-off heat detection.

Can i know where you bought blackvue?
*
I bought it from Sg as i search around it only sells there and one at KL. I'm from JB so it is convenient for me to enter to Sg. Also the price is the same:

DR590W dual ch
Magic pro
Installation

1800 ringgit

Korean dashcam is what you require. But Korean dashcams is not as cheap as China dashcams.

Go for Thinkware dashcams as have local distributor and warranty.

Blackvue if not mistaken, the stock is grey imported from Singapore by local sellers. Best to check the warranty first.

iRoad I think still have a distributor in Malaysia. Can't remember d.

Usually, Korean dashcam will hardwire to car fuse box for the parking mode. Anyway, all car manufacturer says void warranty for anything that is not factory installed.
*
Agree 😊 my installer uses circuit fuse tap to connect the wire from the fuse.. no wire cutting and can easily take out if needed.

Hi guys between Thinkware F200 and Blackvue DR590W which one is best bang for buck? I got quote for RM1300 for the F200 and RM1900 for the DR590W..

I need to have the parking mode function as my carpark is beside walkway and kids always play around the car..

Another thing is this Viofo WR1 good? price quite reasonable and the camera is small and cute..maybe wanna put it in my other car..
*
Hi.. I am currently using DR590W that is hardwired using Power Magic Pro. The video quality is ok, both morning and night mode, it only got 30fps which sometimes it is hard to make out the plate number if it is far...

I bought mine here in Sg and it cost me around 1800 including the Magic pro and installation. I found one selling at KL and same price as yours (1900).

For the price of the DR590W, I can get the previous high range, Thinkware F770 with built-in GPS and ADAS features. No need to get something like the power magic Pro too.
*
is it the DR650W you're refering to as previous high range model? if so, sadly it is still almost 100sgd more expensive than the 590w πŸ˜”.. and the rear cam is not FHD... and i dont need the cloud feature as my car doesnt have the hotspot.

GPS doesn't include in this 590W which is a negative.. dor ADAS.. hmmm great feature but it a hit or miss..

F770 Thinkware integrated it's Magic Pro features to its cam which is great.. no need extra stuff in your car...

DR590W is new model if not mistaken.

For rm2k, I think Thinkware F770 is a better choice. Have GPS built-in and no need to purchase external device for parking mode.
*
yeah.. agree 😁 im thinking to try some china brand, im leaning towards yi 70minutes.. 130ringgit only..

All Thinkware comes with hardwire kit only. If you need ciggie port power, then you'll need to purchase the car charger separately. But you won't be able to use the parking mode and it will be a waste of the dashcam.

Hardwire kit for me is easier. Just unplug the 2 fuse taps if need to bring back to service center for any troubleshooting.

Hi Bro, just want to ask, will it really void the warranty? I only use 1 fuse taps and the other wire i didnt use... I'm plan ing not to take it out when i do my servicing at Honda..

Just gone through his review, cant really decide between F800 pro, QX800 and DR750s 😒
*
F800pro and DR750S are great. But for me I like the Blackvue's buffer recording feature that it can record 6seconds prior to impact unlike other dashcam that will start recording the moment it detect the impact. but i like thinkwares other feature. just choose what is your priority

either way, both are good and expensive dashcam 😁 im not a fan of a lcd dashcam

by the way, where will you get or buy them?

Search in youtube: Blackvue DR750S-2CH vs. Thinkware F800 Pro vs. DOD RC500S: Best High End Dashcam?

I will install it at car accessories shop at Muar
*

The card was so expensive, i paid for sgd 40 to upgrade from 16gb to 32gb😒

Anyway warranty should not be an issue, anything happen i can just bring back to the Singapore official store as most of the time I'm staying in Singapore actually.
*
damn, why they sell so expensive.. i bought my 62GB (sandisk) for 52sgd at challenger, i also got Samsung that cost 49sgd..

Thinkware micro SD cards are all MLC chips based that's why is it expensive. OEM by Lexar Korea to Thinkware. Now very rare can find made in Korea Lexar cards. Only OEM is made in Korea. Other is made in China.

Others value for money cards are mostly TLC chips and the read/write speed is insufficient and cause error. Avoid Sandisk Ultra.

I've upgraded to 64GB Thinkware card myself. Now planning to get a 128GB MLC card from another brand to test on my F800 Pro.

FYI - Samsung Evo Plus 64GB and 128GB have higher rated read/write speed than it's 32GB counterpart.
*
thanks for the explanation, i thought the 40sgd price is a normal card. I bought Sandisk high endurance but im currently using samsung Evo 😊

Which cam can be dismantle easily? Scare someone will break glass and steal the cam
*
Practically, all dashcam can be taken out if the thief knows what he/she is doing. the wires they can just cut it off as it can be replaced. I usually turn off any LED if it is on parking mode, or even in Normal mode.

Anyone here using Blackvue 590s 2ch? How's the recording quality?
*
Video quality is ok, car's plate number is visible enough, there were timea that the plate's number is not that clear especially if you're cruising in a high speed - as almost all of the dashcam.

parking mode is good. and when the car is not in motion, can see clearly the plate number.

i use magicpro for the parking mode.

may i know how much is the price for that model? i am using 590W. bought it in Sg.

mine using xiaoyi dashcam for 2 years so far so good.

during parking, i cover my dashcam using my cap to keep from prying eyes.
and no, i don't like parking mode and don't like doing hardwiring or using external powerbank inside car which is dangerous.
*
well, if u bought a dashcam with parking mode and didnt use that feature is a waste of money. hardwiring it is easy, just use this (see pix)

$199 at Amazon.com. was planning to get one but some reviews said the quality is bad. Like what you said, can't capture clear plate number.

The rest of 2ch is like RM1k++
*
