our local dailies sinchew got one full page publishing about driving recorder 2 weeks ago
not going reproduce whole contents here
juz test yourself:
a) 60fps vs 30fps, which one u see is clearer? then pick it. generally the answer is 60fps.
b) do u see poorer night scene in 1296 than 1080? bcoz each pixel getting lower light input during night time
the press writer suggest 1080 60fps rather than 1296 30fps
1296 more like a marketing hype, bcoz the chips may actually native 1080 then add in additional 216 by way of interpolated or any other to make it 1296, but it not a native 1296 chip
another matter is, the life span of memory card greatly reduced by higher resolution, ie micro sd card die faster
i check the xiaoyi A12 self-label chip is actually novatek nt96660, which is a native 1080 processor
Thanks.. I will try then..

Choose 1080p 60fps for this cam.
Btw did you try powering the dashcam with a powerbank and see if the LED light comes on.
OK, since both of you suggest 1080 60 instead of 1296...
Ya I tried PowerBank and car power output.. The red light led come out, but sometimes will turn off.. The red light it's quite dim.. U need to concentrate to see it or at night timing easy to see..
