013 is the latest one, they fixed the power issues on this firmware. Try to use the reset button(hole) and see.

Power issue means? Weird thing is I charged my cam whole night, the red indicator still on.. Hmmm

It's about 3 times more expensive than the current one. Would be a good and cheap alternative to the gopro4.
Did you try resetting? If yes, it might be hardware problem then. As a last resort try to flash the firmware manually again and see.
*
I tried all English n Chinese firmware.. All same result... Sent back to lazada and ask for replacement..

Hi Eddie, the red light will blink when only it is being charged. Once fully charged, only the orange light will blinking - stating that the recording is in progress. No worries.
*
Huh, my case red light will on without blink when charge.. Orange light blink bcz recording.. Red light very dim.. Sometimes dint have red light at all.. Izzit it charge for some times and will stop? And later on charge again?

Guys, what resolution you use for dash cam.
I wondering which is better 1080 60fps vs 1296 30fps.. I do some reading in other forum mostly end up with argument lol.. Since our car is moving someone say fps better, and someone say resolution higher is better.. I want to focus mostly on car number plates..

our local dailies sinchew got one full page publishing about driving recorder 2 weeks ago

not going reproduce whole contents here

juz test yourself:

a) 60fps vs 30fps, which one u see is clearer? then pick it. generally the answer is 60fps.

b) do u see poorer night scene in 1296 than 1080? bcoz each pixel getting lower light input during night time

the press writer suggest 1080 60fps rather than 1296 30fps

1296 more like a marketing hype, bcoz the chips may actually native 1080 then add in additional 216 by way of interpolated or any other to make it 1296, but it not a native 1296 chip

another matter is, the life span of memory card greatly reduced by higher resolution, ie micro sd card die faster

i check the xiaoyi A12 self-label chip is actually novatek nt96660, which is a native 1080 processor
*
Thanks.. I will try then..
QUOTE(xperiaVuser @ May 27 2016, 07:54 PM)
Choose 1080p 60fps for this cam.

Btw did you try powering the dashcam with a powerbank and see if the LED light comes on.
*
OK, since both of you suggest 1080 60 instead of 1296...
Ya I tried PowerBank and car power output.. The red light led come out, but sometimes will turn off.. The red light it's quite dim.. U need to concentrate to see it or at night timing easy to see..

Your dashcam is working fine. Under bright sunlight it's not that visible on mine too, once you go into shaded area it's easy to see.
*
Got pictures? Haha compared to the orange indicator it's quite big difference.. Cause my 1st defect unit I saw both brightness is almost the same.. But this one red quite dim.. But I don't really mind as long the recording and date it's fine haha

Haven't but looks good after googling... will try to find more info on it... Anyway it looks like the DDPai mini...
For the cabling is depends on the car actually... For me, Honda (City & HRV) is easy to install via the rubber lining or the A pillar... Perodua (Viva & Axia) a bit hard to go thru the rubber lining but it's best to go through the A pillar...

You can google for video on how to hide the dashcam cables. Also depends if you dare to DIY or not... If DIY you need a bit of time to experiment... Accessories shop will be faster if you don't want to DIY...

DIY will take about 30-60 minutes if it's your first time...
*
Within 10min Haha.. All car same.. Tried on my Bro car and gf

Yesterday my wife's 64gb sandisk ultra died... Not used in dashcam also... My friend who works in Thunder Match said Sandisk micro sd cards spoilt more often than other brands...
*
We can use warranty claim rite? I bought 4 of this micro sd and I even use on phone.. Dint think it's so poor?
QUOTE(coolstore @ Jul 23 2016, 12:32 PM)
actually under Q&A section of a plenty car cam manufacturers already mention Sandisk brand is not compatible to their cam.

there is no need to boycott, juz he don read manufacturer info thoroughly (or he never been informed).

btw, sandisk card already express terms of warranty void if using for dashcam? this is quite informative.
*
The video mention void for dashcam.. I not sure it's reliability.. And how the heck they can know where we insert

Actually on the mijia is clearer than the Yi for both night and day... Only the mijia have a darker video which I hope new firmware will fix this...

You need the raw files?
*
Haha, if you have time.. Free I try YouTube to see from pc.. Maybe clearer... Using phone to small to see details.. Actually I want to see the number plate which one capture better, if better I want see the quality very noticeable or not... Thinking worth to upgrade or not.. Need spend additional 100+ if let's say I sell my old dashcam

Thinking to get mijia.. Is it good under hot sun for the battery? Where can get low price for this? The lowest I get around 220.. Or any recommendations for other dash cam around 200-250 range?
