QUOTE(uzary @ Sep 21 2013, 10:47 AM) Thats y for me these water resistance feature is a precaution in case we accidently dropped the phone into the water. But to test it by submerge it for fun still a bad idea.btw my cousin's acro s also water leaked inside when he was playing with it in the pool. And even samsung s4 active suffered from this issue. Normatter how hard manufacture do, water still an enemies of electrical devices. |

QUOTE(Areas Elysian @ Sep 21 2013, 01:33 PM) Onion Bokeh this bokeh. If you mean that Vietnam site, he is using macro ring, his sample photo is misleading and total out.Tamron 24-70mm has Onion Bokeh. The Nikon doesn't. They call it Onion Bokeh because it looks like an Onion being sliced across in half. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Now look at the Bokeh on the Z1. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « But then again, if the guy was using some Macro add-on clip, the Onion Bokeh could have resulted from using that add-on. And I Don't know what onion bokeh you talk about also, I only know some lens cannot generate circle bokeh but Hexagon bokeh. But for me both got it nice moment actually. You are looking at mobile camera not DSLR lens, bokeh output is by how many blade inside the lens, don't you think you hope too much? Thanks it can given you some bokeh effect as it is just a mobile phone. This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Sep 21 2013, 05:19 PM |

QUOTE(Areas Elysian @ Sep 22 2013, 12:55 AM) I may not have been that clear with my statement, or maybe you missed the photo. oh. Ok, get it. My comment has nothing to do with the shape, how round, how hexoganish etc. the bokeh is. Again, refer to the image below. ![]() It is to do with the texture within the bokeh itself. Compare between the Tamron and the Nikon. What do you see? The Nikon's bokeh is smooth and milky. The Tamron's bokeh on the other hand, has a similar texture to that of a sliced onion, hence the term "Onion Bokeh". See embedded image below in the spoiler for that of a sliced onion to see the similarity. » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Now, referring back to the image taken from the Vietnamese website, ignoring the shape of the bokeh (center bokehs are round, bokehs on the sides will be different). » Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... « Viewing the image in the spoiler, you can see especially in the center bokeh, there are clear evidences of the Onion textures. I hope this is clear now. I understand the mechanics of bokeh, how round it is dependent on the aperture blades etc., which is a whole different issue. I am talking about the texture of it. Not its shape. Actually, I would rather it not have the bokeh if it is going to be the onion ones. LOL. It is one reason I ended up paying extra for a 24-70mm 2.8L even though the Tamron is much cheaper. It gets really messy and dirty. But of course that's subjective. One person's poison is another person's perfume. Edit: To place the onion photo into a spoiler so as to not affect the post size. Smooth sure look nice and clean. |

QUOTE(evilhomura89 @ Sep 23 2013, 11:36 AM) Comparison with 5S was posted not long ago - http://www.eprice.com.hk/mobile/talk/4544/...eria-z1-review/ Thanks for that post, I am downloading origin photo and check it out now. QUOTE(suadrif @ Sep 23 2013, 11:37 AM) i dont feel it to be trustable I think it is trustable, all Exif is there. never mind for all of u, but i dont think its for me just personal preference But, after check around all the photos, I notice ISO is pushing up really high for Note 3 where it is under control for Z1. I don't think Samsung push that high ever base on my experience usage. Base on previous site user compare, it is opposite where Z1 is pushing higher ISO in dark shoot - and this is what always Sony did in auto mode. We not sure the user using what mode actually, if the user at eprice using auto mode, then Sony already fix the auto algorithm, else the comparison is unfair if the Z1 is shot under manual mode. Short Conclusion assuming all is auto mode. Outdoor Flower - iPhone 5s seems a bit less expose than others, a bit too dark. Note 3 and Z1 is awesome. Outdoor City - I find the Note 3 the best as the whole photo looks bright and great contrast, iPhone 5s the second, last is Z1 as the Grand Theft is not clear as others. Indoor Dragon Toy - No doubt Z1 the best. Worst Note 3, it auto push to ISO 1000, hmm, I never seen Samsung phone auto that high. Indoor Food Court - iPhone 5s too dark, but well control the light source, all the food photo is clear. Note 3 is blur, Z1 the best. Outdoor - Night Scene - Z1 if auto mode really can control at ISO 400, then it is really great. The best, another 2 is too bad to comment. evilhomura89 Now I know why you feel not trusted also, and eprice is always Sony fans site. Edit: I just read the user review, it seems the user play manual mode in night shoot, in this case it is really unfair if photo not shoot in same ISO if want play manual mode. I am going to by pass this user review then. It is obvious the user pick the safer ISO range for Z1 (ISO-400) but pushing over limit for Note 3 (ISO-1000).
