Today check around the purple color. Solid build and premium feel but consider heavy for such a small phone.
Cannot check the screen as that is new set, cannot open. |

QUOTE(hikashi @ Oct 2 2013, 11:03 AM) Dont know. The optimised backlight setting was on back then. After plugging in my USB to transfer file, the screen doesnt turn back on for no reason. Sony shall remove that Optimised backlight, Z Ultra is pretty stable until Optimised backlight is implement. Seems not everyone face it, probably due to different panel use issue.Disabled the optimised backlight and see how it goes now. That the main reason I selling of my Z Ultra. |

QUOTE(hikashi @ Oct 2 2013, 11:18 AM) I not that free keep remember that, what happen in my XZU is I must turn on back before switch off the phone, or else it will fake hang + dead later. And I dislike turn on that optimize backlight. So I always off it. Some more already 3 firmwares roll out, none of it fixed that issue for me. -------------------------------------- Anyway I no regret selling it at all, happy with my current new phone. QUOTE(angel-girl @ Oct 2 2013, 09:31 AM) for the yellow hue, i found one solution .download screen adjuster from google play. make blue +6. tadaaaa!! Screen adjuster is not a solution. Check carefully on the launcher animation, you will notice it slowing down the animation (not smooth) when you use the screen adjuster. |

QUOTE(ckchan @ Oct 2 2013, 11:30 AM) well, it's just a temp workaround. last time i also use this on my acro s as i find the display is too "white" and look washout on certain games. but after updates from sony, it solved the problem and i have since deleted the screen adjuster QUOTE(angel-girl @ Oct 2 2013, 11:36 AM) If your phone just purchase, I think is better try ask for exchange, yellow tint is quite yellowish. |

QUOTE(hikashi @ Oct 2 2013, 12:21 PM) optimised backlight on, adapt to lighting on, phone function as per normal Check my solution I did before at XZU, at 1st page. It will get solved.Switch settings optimised backlight off, phone function normal. Restarts phone with backlight off, Sony logo turns up, phone turn blank with backlight remained on for 5 minute before i decide to hard reset from the SIM tray. Phone vibrates 3 times. Turning on the phone again, same thing happens, SONY logo turn up and screen turn blank again with backlight on. xperia logo turn up after 2 minute and booted with wave animation and home screen appear. Turn off display with power button, screen shuts up completely. Attempt to turn on the screen fails. Force reset needed again. Second reset attempt successful wih xperia logo appears instantly. Phone behaves normal now with display setting optimised backlight off and adapt to lighting on. Restarts phone for 3rd time. Screen halted again after sony logo. Xperia logo appears after 2 or 3 minute. Home screen loaded with maximum brightness, and sudden dimmed and regain brightness. Turned off display with power button. Screen cant turn back on again. Same behaviour again after hard reset with screen halted for 2 3 minute after Sony logo. Home screen loaded with backlight at maximum. Power off screen immediately will turn off the display but the backlight remained on. Pressing power button again and the screen turns back on with max backlight. Phone functioned normal with backlight problem. Developing. Completely same symptom as Z Ultra. https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=62956624 |

QUOTE(pohsze @ Oct 2 2013, 12:21 PM) mine straight on has no yellowish hue, diff angle then got yellowish hue. my friend's straight on has yellowish hue, but diff angle colors are okay. This is same symptom as Z. so annoying lah Either you want great viewing angle (warmer screen - possible JDC) or bad viewing angle (whiter screen - possible Sharp). Above happen due to different supplier of screen panel. QUOTE(pohsze @ Oct 2 2013, 12:34 PM) go sony center la, its rather easily identifiable actually..like the image Andrewtst posted If Sony care, it won't happen already. It already happen since Z.maybe we should all call in service center, let them know this is affecting alot of users so that it becomes a major issue and can one to one exchange.. after all we paid premium leh This post has been edited by Andrewtst: Oct 2 2013, 12:38 PM |

All have even the Z Ultra, Z Ultra difficult to see, but you immediate seen it under spot light. If the bee hive you mean is like "大" texture, then yes, it is normal for Sony screen. |

QUOTE(Jason @ Oct 4 2013, 05:47 PM) Just tested Z1 @ Sony Gardens.. put next to Xperia Ultra..yup..their Z1 unit also yellowish. oh well. I also test. Now on the way back to JB. I snap some photos via Z1 and transfer to my phone. Monday will do comparison. My impression on Z1:
Beside this, I also test out the Nokia Lumia 1020. The image is sharp but the color is shit! Why can't Nokia make a proper white balance, since PureView 808. All camera output color is way too yellowish with weird color tone. Also I notice the Lumia 1020 macro mode is the worst I ever seen. Want macro forget Lumia 1020, even the shop also said the macro distance cannot be as near as others phone. Comparison with Note 3 will be post in Monday at Note 3 thread as well. All in all, want camera with lossless digital zoom - I will pick Z1 not this crap Lumia 1020 where closed macro also not possible with weird coloring. |

QUOTE(ZeneticX @ Oct 4 2013, 07:06 PM) 1st time see people actually hate 1020 compared to z1 Sure. remember to post comparison here as well yeah that snapping effect is super annoying.... don't see a point with it, it's not really a nice effect oso The 1020 color I cannot accept, how clear and sharp also no use already. Some more the macro distance is nonono. |
