i would like to see this thread as a platform to share the user experience and joy with their lumia 1020.
more photos. we all experience trial & errors before we learn something smile.gif

Even better if include some EXIF data, so that more input from other member regarding adjusting parameter to get better photo.

To access the EXIF data, Nokia Pro Cam will display it when you review your photo. Or download "Picture Info" apps from apps store.

blurry because out of focus hehe

its actually both blurry of movement without OIS and out of focus due to failure to have proper focus lock.

btw, the super wide angle us really great for architecture and interior shots.

just found the setting to lower screen saturation, lowered 2 notches and the colors are more accurate now.
*
Take note that wide angle only works on 16:9 mode shot, but less pixel.

4:3 had more pixel but angle was less wide.

They remove the built-in wireless charging function to keep the weight down. You need to buy wireless charging shell for the phone if you wish to play with the wireless charging capability of the phone.

Behind the Lumia 1020 had a input point that connects with the wireless charging shell to transfer power collected from the shell to the battery.

My understanding, MIcrosoft needs to build CardDAV and CalDAV support into Windows Phone 8 by dec 31st? To enable support for Google Sync
*
Microsoft had make WP8 to support CardDav and CalDAV protocol on their latest GDR2 update.

http://www.windowsphone.com/en-us/how-to/w...-update-history

So those former android owner that jump ship to WP should had no problem continue using G-mail.

GDR3 is targeted for 6-7 inch phone right ? What does the existing Lumia 1020 users get? Btw anyway I can hook up my Lumia 1020 to my HDTV? Its missing out all the awesome pictures I took with this phone
*
GDR3 not just enable new hardware support (support HD 1080 and Quad Core Processor), also add new features.

Existing Lumia owner will get features like:

-3 medium or 6 small tiles on a row for phones with screen resolution higher than WXGA (1280 x 768) including Lumia 920, 925, 928, 1020 and of course the Lumia 1520. (unconfirmed)
-Close apps by tapping on the X on top right in multitasking view. The icon of the app appears below.
-Custom tones for text or IM, voicemail, email and reminders (confirmed earlier by Windows Phone Central)
-Screen Rotation lock: When auto-rotate screen is off, your screen will stay in the current orientation when you rotate your phone.
-Driving Mode: Turns of all notifications except texts and phone calls when you're driving. You can also turn calls and texts off completely or set Driving Mode to text and automatic reply like "Hey, I am driving right now. I'll reply you later." Driving Mode can start automatically when your phone connects to a Bluetooth device.
-Connect to WiFi in OOBE when switching on your new phone for the first time or after you your reset your phone, so you can restore your data even before connecting to a cellular network.
-New accessibility features: new update for Mobile Accessibility
-Improved Internet Sharing: No need to enter a password or dig out your phone and turn on Internet Sharing—it's done for you.
-Better storage management: New storage settings make it easier to free up space on your phone and manage temporary files. A new category view shows what's taking up space at a glance.
-New accessibility features: new update for Mobile Accessibility
-Better Bluetooth: The team made a bunch of improvements to improve connection quality for Bluetooth accessories.
-Attach Office files (.doc, .xls, .ppt) and .pdf files in email.

Nokia Bittersweet shimmer firmware (un-confirmed)

-Glance Screen: Notifications in glance screen similar to the notifications on the lock screen. Choose from any of the 20 accent colours for night mode instead of just red in Amber. You can choose whether you want to keep the glance screen always on when charging, in Amber it is always on when charging.
-New apps: Nokia Camera, Storyteller, etc.

The thing is this GDR3 is release by Microsoft itself without going through phone manufacturer (HTC, Samsung, Nokia) to do hardware testing on their phone to make sure it works perfectly before released it.

so installing the GDR3 now will had the risk of warranty void if GDR3 got problem on your phone.

in coming weeks to months depends on carriers based on blogs...how long was the GDR2 update from our local telcos last time since i never use WP before?
*
Unlike other country, all Lumia Phone in Malaysia don't had telco/carrier locked (unlocked phone), so we don't need to wait Telco to release the update, instead Nokia Malaysia will do all the final checking before release it themselves.

Lumia 920/820 in Malaysia get GDR2 + amber update quite fast last time after Nokia announce the OTA update is available globally. 2-3 weeks after announce IINM, but other model had to wait longer time.

GDR1 update last time Nokia Malaysia had problem release it in OTA mode. Had to delay very long time, that time Nokia Malaysia even tell people they only can update by flash the ROM at service center.

Hi

Lumia 1020 Yellow signing in. Please update!

BTW, how long does it take to update GDR3?
*
fantasy1989

20.horray ->Nokia Lumia 1020 YELLOW

Take note that current GDR3 update solely released by Microsoft, without going through testing by Nokia on their phone and release it bundle with Bittersweet Shimmer firmware update. So might had some bugs on the OS.

Does gdr3 fix the volume prob?(seperate ringer with media)
*
No, currently the Preview version of GDR3 (for developer usage) had rotation lock, close apps by pressing "x" on multitasking windows, customize sound notification for SMS, E-mail, and in future apps as well.

Lumia 1020 sell at China is 5999 RMB, Malaysia is RM 2499

I expect Lumia 1520 should be lesser than RM2500, base on leaked price tag at China for Lumia 1520 is 4999 RMB
