QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 21 2013, 11:11 PM) Wait, I thought the retail price is RM 2,399 and none of them bought it at a more expensive price? Or am I wrong? So, I don't think they are paying more just to be early adopters. I know iPhone 5s is different... I saw the price of 64GB champagne gold fried to RM 4,888. No one paid extra, but he means earlier buyer is not smart.

QUOTE(fruitie @ Sep 21 2013, 11:15 PM) Chill chill. I was one of the early adopters as well for Note II. That time I cannot tolerate my BlackBerry anymore. Paying RM 150 cheaper than RRP and can get 2 days before launch day, why not? Samsung phones can never fetch higher price compared to iPhone. Yalo, that is user right and happiness. Nobody care you buy now or later, nothing to show off also, phone is a common product now. But he said earlier buyer not smart is a bit too much.

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Sep 21 2013, 11:33 PM) I am pretty sure that you cannot catch the phrase 'smart'. I never said it was wrong to be an early adopter, just stating the facts that one is desperate enough to overpay for the phone just to be an early adopter. Well, if you felt it, then that is your problem because I was merely agreeing with the person I've replied earlier. There is no such thing as first customer or second customer. I believe what you are referring to is early adopters. Does it even matter if you are the first to get it? Sooner or later people will start owning it too. Secondhand value? The value of the phone depreciates as soon as you pick it up from the store, just like owning a car. Simple as ABC. Doesn't mean that you've purchased the phone on the first day of launch will guarantee that the value of the phone will sustain at it's peak value. Already said buy earlier or not is user right and happiness. It does not matter, no one care you get it earlier or later, but your equation earlier adopter is not smart is a matter. No one talk on it second hand value. Second hand value is base on product famous and required.

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Sep 21 2013, 11:44 PM) You jumped at my statement of 'smart consumers'. For instance: Which part of my statement stated that early adopters are not smart? Or should I put in your way, stupid? I'm not trying to belittle you but please improve on your understanding and reading skills. The word 'smart consumers' is a general term used by consumers who understands the value of the market and not paying stupid money just to be an early adopter. There is no wrong of being an early adopter, just the fact that paying overboard is not very 'wise' of a person since the phone will be release in a few weeks. Again, I do not tolerate people who jump or make their own conclusions. It is same meaning, you no need to twist it.

QUOTE(Noobi3 @ Sep 21 2013, 11:50 PM) S800 is great BUT also depends on how the manufacturer tweak it with the firmware . Eg S800 on SGS4-LTE sucks . Someone said before S800 should get around 32k or more on Antutu ? I get only 30k+ on Antutu and the phone is nothing special then LTE version , still the same lag and bugs . It still same RAM capacity which not really enough for new Samsung added features in S4. QUOTE(Andrew_1980 @ Sep 21 2013, 11:52 PM) As long can get around 29k to 33k is quite ok for S800. Lower than it then something wrong.

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Sep 22 2013, 12:09 AM) I never judged. I was referring to those who've overpaid for the phone not those early adopters who paid RRP for it. Overpaying for a phone is what I am commenting on. And yes he took my statement wrongly because he misunderstood my statement. There is no right or wrong for one to do with their money, economically it is wrong but again, who are we to judge? I never misunderstood your statement. Even people paid more is people right and like. It not affecting you, means you no need to bother as well.

QUOTE(joytest @ Sep 22 2013, 12:08 AM) One day it will. Intel is extremely, extremely afraid of that day when it happens, and you're not using an Intel Inside phone. One day will come and not so far from now. Even now laptop also hardly sell, people get laptop for working purposes only.

QUOTE(marc79 @ Sep 22 2013, 12:29 AM) i think he just want to get S3. best suit for his money? Yes, it is right for saving. also depending how much u earn. dont take me wrong, i'm not rich.. however i know someone who is earn 10 times more than me.. this type of money is just peanuts for them. technology move too fast nowadays.. ur current model will soon phase out within a year to 2 time.. so its not really matter what price u bought nowadays. Yep, getting what with what price is user right. He need to respect this.

QUOTE(andrewtho @ Sep 22 2013, 12:34 AM) Well said. Planning to sign with a telco or just the phone individually? Look back at your previous statement(s) and I would like to beg to differ? If you put it that way, I can say the same thing as well, vice versa. And for the record, your English is really hard to read. I'm having trouble trying to reiterate your statements. Then don't read and reply. You just not respect people right. People buy earlier or paid more is people choice. How could you conclude those as not smart consumer. QUOTE(benny888 @ Sep 22 2013, 12:36 AM) Right. That Andrew guy think he is one smarter chap who knows how to spend money better. He forgot that are many who don't mind paying extra knowing very well the additional amount BUT such consumers are not dumb n you cannot say they are not smart consumers To such consumers extra 300-500 ringgit could just be a drop in the ocean only. They don't even want to think about such extra money. For me paying rm2k is just pocket change If I like something earlier I don't mind paying a few hundred more. N I proudly still say I am a smart consumer I agree he is definitely wrong to say only smart consumers will not overpay Yep, exactly.
