woah initial plan to buy Saga SV , then suddenly straight go to Suprima. Huge jump in your budget. You mmg pro.  laugh.gif

Im urgently need a bigger car, currently driving a viva, so i picked alza advance Version since SA said stock no prob anymore, can get car within a week after signing agreement, even i got full loan on alza AV....so budget not a problem on me.

3weeks after loan approved, still no news, SA not even give me a call instead me the one always call him, ask him to check other dealer/branch, told him dat any variant also ok, any color also ok as long as i can get car very soon, but still haven't give me any phone calls.

After discuss with my wife, we decide to buy any cheapest proton, any showroom as long they have ready stock car.
Reached glennmarie showroom yesterday and saw SS got 5k discount, so only need 3k for dp....thats what happened until i booked an SS....

BTW, getting a 2013 car means the car have atleast 6month old EO inside, is it necessary to replace eo b4 taking it home?

Saw one SS owner with 20".

lol its crazy.

I will choose any evo's ori 17inch wheels to replace ori SS rim instead of using 18/19/20 inch rims.... Bigger rims cost more on rubber, and i think lesser choice of rubber too....

Btw, SS rims pcd 114.3 rite? The width 7 or 7.5 inch?

as for rims, 20 inch is possible but u need a small width and a correct offset.. below 40...
the 20 inch rims is 8jj only iinm... thats what the owner said.. . 18" is a breeze to fit.. but if u r going wider, u need a smaller offset... the current rims are 7.5jj..
anything bigger than 8jj is going to need fender roll...

if i wanna change rims, it better be some lightweight ones... going the same size and weight means u just change the looks...
*
If i got this SS, it will be 1st time in my life using 17inch rims... Hehehehe.... 17inch big enough for me, plus this is 1.6turbo cars, not 2.0t....i dont like SS rim design, will looking for used japanese lightweight rims 1st, it will help for better fc i think...

lighter rims, will only take a small amount off the unsprung weight... even the 16 inch on preve does not fair better...

if u are really concerned about fuel economy, by all means dont get a Suprima... you can try to get good FC... but a simple flash of light from behind will send it soaring back..  sweat.gif
*
Dont compare with oem rims, as i said earlier, 'a good japan lightweight/forged rims'. And dont misunderstood, im not buy and expensive rims to save fuel, its bcos i just dont like SS rim.

I wont buy SS (or maybe any cars) if im expecting to get same fc with my current viva, it just a normal thoughts/believe of any new car owner (like me) that every car have potential to saving more fuel....

Cheers

Im still reading, and currently on page 38.... And the frequent item to be talk was the HU....From spanish language issue, until memory lost after engage to Reverse...hehehehehe

Only 1 thing, if i get this car as early next week. Let say the car sent to showroom at 31st Dec 2013 (yes, i bought 2013 stock), would u go straight changing an EO? Or drive around 100km and service, or just drive until 1000km juz like normal?

Service Mesra Service Centre usually at the PETRONAS Station. I think they can do basic service like EO change etc. but don't know either they have the system that service centre use (SC use SAP).
*
Owh....ic....

Not confident wit those kind 'sub-proton' SC.... Better go to 'real' SC....

it is not sub proton sc. it is under proton edar, not dealer tho. Although they may not have full capability of technical assistance like COSE, for normal service and minor defect you may refer to them
*
I know its proton SC, signboard also proton...

Just doubt bout their service capabilities....If the service cycle only change eo, sure go dat servis mesra....very close to my house...
But if i going to ask for ecu/tcu update, hu update, parts claim n evrthing, must go direct to Proton Edar SC

Somehow i think, dis warranty is like killing auto industries...
Owner very scare to touch their car... Even ask "change rim waranti void ka?"

Preve and SS r3 kit is same rite? Why proton sell it as preve kit inc the rear skirt?

Khairilyazit - thanks 4 ur advice. Don't know vw 1st service at 10/15k km....just my concern is sc ask to service the car based on 'whichever come 1st'.... Service at 1k will save my voucher tho....hehehehe

Suprima S June promo leaked....8k rebate from proton itself....

Lucky i got dat...dp rm45 only....

Edited :

Ive done read from 1st page....Somehow i dont see owner talk about upgrading ICE and improve safety....

Does the SS audio system good enough? Im not saying about big twin subwoofer at trunk + poweramp etc2, what I mean is do u can comfortably have a chat while tune a small amount of spk volume? Did SS audio have a good sq? I even removed all audio parts from my current car to install at SS...

Car safety - any of you add any additional anti-theft like gps tracker/locktech? Is it necessary for a car with pushstart button to add this item?

Tq, for sharing for ipinions...So excited loan approved summo got 8k rebate + 3years free service...hehehehe

yes. im aware of that. but already save for DP. So no need pay to bank too much.

Just ask the SA. Rebate 8k + DP 7K = RM15k

9 years loan = RM753/month

but without dp 7k, RM830 per month.
*
dats rite, lower loan amount, basically will get lower int rate = lower monthly commitment... me also submit at rhb, got 90% loan with 2.9 int rates....

QUOTE(ayamxxx @ Jun 6 2014, 03:18 PM)
Just found out today in mudah, got even 10k discount or rebates. Odr just belom 70k.

Tempted.

But what is the fc for this car eh? Still consider good or what??
*
Read carefully, below 70k if u have 55% ncd.....Marketing tricks oni....

8k rebates confirmed, today already update in proton-edar site with 'Ramadan Promo' tittle.... squeeze more from SA, atleast 1k cash rebate, minus ur current ncd...Maybe u will get SS below 70k otr.....

Pick Cerato if you mind the Proton badge. Suprima have quality issues ie, rattling, tailgate that is difficult to open, not-so-stellar NVH, poor interior fitment etc....What mitigate these shortcomings is the cost of ownership: not just the price of the car is cheaper, the spare parts are cheaper and better availability, and there are Proton SCs anywhere.

But if you want a nice looking car and don't mind so much on performance and handling, Cerato it is. But, buying either car you will still have to suffer the same question from relatives and friends "WHY U NO BUY VIOSS???rclxms.gif
