Thinking of adding sound insulation for the road noise. It gets apparent after >120kmh. What do you guys think? Will it void the warranty?

I just noticed our GPS is pre-loaded with AES locations. Niiice. Will be turning on the GPS all the time now brows.gif

Btw.. my HU "beeps" occasionally. Kinda annoying if it happens when I'm listening to music. It will mute the sound, beeps, and then unmute...total around 1-2 seconds. Do you guys face this issue?

AES locations is already inside Waze.. So when u drive past them it will alert u
*
Yup , waze has them. Just don't want to depend too much on data. Save bandwidth. Hehe.

Just sent my SS to SC this morning. I was driving from KL to JB last night and the CVT warning light, hand brake indication and ESC indication came on. The brake lamps were also turned on all the while and auto cruise won't function (probably because of the handbrake indication). Getting them to check and hopefully nothing major. Had to disconnect the battery last night since the brake lamps won't turn off after I lock the car. Don't want the battery to kong before I bring to SC.

that's new! what could have happened  hmm.gif

No biggie. Apparently one of the switch for handbrake (underneath the steering area) was faulty, affected the other warning lights as well. Was glad there was no problem with the CVT.

fuuhh...lucky u!  biggrin.gif

Yup, very relieved sweat.gif . hehe. I was driving about 180 that time, and suddenly the CVT warning came on. Gave me a huge scare. Immediately slowed down the car to 120 and the warning light still intermittently on and other warning lights started to come on (ESC, handbrake). Luckily I waited until I reached home before checking, because after I switched the engine off I couldn't restart and the message "Optional Inspection" appeared. I disconnected the battery since the brake lights were still on, tawakkal je tunggu esok pagi. Hehe. Luckily can restart the engine the next morning after I reconnected the battery and drove straight to SC.

On a more positive note, my FC for high speed highway run is down to 10.6L/100km from 11L/100km. My mileage is almost 7k already. hehe brows.gif

I dare not drive more than 140 km. I have driven faster, only that I am not confident with Malaysian roads. Even smooth road got undulation.

My highway FC is 7.8 kmL/100 km. You must be going very fast to get that.
*
Yup, was driving pretty fast, hence the high FC. The lowest highway FC I got was 6.9L/100km, driving 80kmh constantly.

Btw, you should really consider that suggestion by bro Masboleh. Post your suggestions to Proton in the 1st post. I think they really listen given the fact that this car is actually quite an improvement from Preve (in terms of refinement and all). Plus it would encourage others to be more constructive in this forum. Just my 2 kupang. hehe.

Thanks. Putting these on 1st page. These guy went through 8 protons. Must be a huge fan.

Glad I'm not the only one mentioning about the plastics

BTW, what is the homepage wallpaper of your SS? Mine is a Cheetah. The one in the video review (3:48 min) blue screen only. Does the wallpaper mean anything, like different software version have different wallpaper?
*
Hmm mine is actually the same as the reviewed car, blank wall paper hmm.gif . Could mine be an older version?

And this one was from PT during the launch. The list of apps looks totally different from what our cars have.

But then again some apps are for app development, probably they haven't completely tested the HU by launch time. Hopefully they are still working on it, I think more refinement can be done to the software.

Dammit..my car had to be towed today. Can't start my engine, before that the handbrake and ESC indicators were on while driving. Probably some electronics failure. My last visit to the SC didn't solve the problem apparently. Even the tow truck driver and some bystanders were surprised because the car is still new and it was his first Suprima.

im so scared also.. since my one is among the very early batch ... so far ok la.. just the front sensors not really working.. but what dreads me is hearing about engine suddenly dying in the middle of the road...
btw abot, make some huhahuha to the hq showing how concerned you are with the state of ur car.. early adopters like us, i heard, will certainly get the attention of their top bosses
*
My engine didn't stop suddenly, just the warning indicators started showing while I was driving. Can't restart the engine after I stopped it. Now the car is still in SC, they're checking the wiring. Initially they told me they need a day to fix it and asked me to come tomorrow. I said okay only if I get a relief car since I need to use the car for work. I even called We Care to get a relief car. And since they can't provide a relief car for me now they are rushing the work. Damn these people need to be kicked in the butts to rush things. Haih.

QUOTE(yaz_inseven @ Oct 28 2013, 09:28 AM)
how many mileage already clocked?
*
Clocked 7.6k already.

QUOTE(mrhaz @ Oct 28 2013, 09:32 AM)
man.. im sorry to hear that. hope its just a minor wiring/software issue.
*
Thanks for the solidarity bro. Haha. They told me it's one of the switches (same as last time I think) after they checked with their software. Now they are testing the car and checking the wiring for other issues.

Oh and one more thing, I asked the SC (Service Branch in Puchong) to check the report from my last SC visit (Service Dealer in JB) and apparently in the system the dealer SA reported that they replaced my battery but as I know they only replace a switch. I suspect they're over claiming the warranty from Proton. I don't really care about that, but this doesn't reflect the true history of my car's problem and maybe others as well. So there's a good chance that many problems encountered by users being sent to branch/dealer for warranty claims are not accurately reported to Proton. hmm.gif

Hows the FC so far? How much cost per service at 1k and 5k?
*
My FC is bad, but mostly due to the way I drive brows.gif. But the lowest FC I got was 6.9L/100km on highway so that's okay I guess.

I enquired directly to Kristof of Punch Powertrain about the improvements on the VT3. My questions were forwarded to his colleague Fikeri Yusof. the following is the email exchange
There was a couple of intermediate email exchange but due to irrelevance I will omit them here. The next relevant email is below
So as you guys can see the improvements is not only software, but also the mechanical parts. Kudos to the team for answering my questions so thoroughly when other carmakers will probably shrug me off.

Goes to show Proton is not ready to rest on it's achievement with the CFE+CVT powertrain design.
*
Thanks for the info bro!! You are really passionate about this stuff huh thumbup.gif

QUOTE(mrhaz @ Oct 29 2013, 09:08 AM)
so hows ur car bro? should be fine already right?
i tot the SC will come out with an official resit that states what has been done to ur car/warranty claim. the items should be online throughout all SC, no?  doh.gif
*
My car is fine already, they replaced the push start button. According to them the switch was shorted. Maybe it caused a false alarm signal to the system and prevented me from cranking the engine *MAYBE*. If only I can get my hands on the car's wiring diagram.

Yup, the items are actually online throughout all SC. The SA showed me the dealer's item from their PC. I didn't bother to get the receipt last time since it's a warranty claim, they just told me verbally what they did/replace. Got it this time though.

they also said MAYBE to you?  hmm.gif
seems like receipt is important with proton SC
*
Actually that's my assumption tongue.gif hehe. But they didn't offer an explanation either. Just told me that they replaced a shorted switch and the push start button. On the receipt they just put the push start button in the list.

QUOTE(mystvearn @ Oct 29 2013, 08:39 PM)
How did the start/stop button blew? Water got in?

I'm still waiting for my interior side panels. Will call them tomorrow to ask.
*
Actually I don't think the push start button blew. When my engine couldn't start, I could actually cycle thru all the modes when you press the button repeatedly (ON --> ACC --> OFF).

Today, while doing my KB-KL trip, I did a wrong turn so made a 3 point turn. Car died after U-turn and just wanted to reverse. Like not enough minyak. Press power button, and continued journey.
*
Engine stalled during reversing? Happened to me once, felt like driving a manual car when you don't rev enough right? After that I just made sure I press the throttle a bit during reversing. No problems since.

guys need to ask some question.

I don't own the car. just asking on behalf of my friend.

anyone here have problems like,

1. not using seatbelt warning not functioning.?

2. while driving, the side mirror flips and closed by itself.?

3. when lock/unlocking car.. boot automatic opens?

4. car could not start?
only 3 month old already have this kinda problem? when calling the service center they say maybe the computer sensor is the cause. cannot send the car to the centre cuz it's already closed for the day.

so anyone here having this kinda problem before? already tried plugging off the battery terminal.. still the same.
gotta send the car back to proton on monday. but just wanna know if anyone else experiencing the same before.
*
QUOTE(sickelmo @ Nov 30 2013, 08:20 PM)
all of this problem came at the same time.. malfuntion all of a sudden. even handbrake light is on all the time. couldn' be fluid on low. def. going back to the SC. rclxub.gif
*
1 and 2, never happened to me before. 3 maybe because pressed the remote button too long hmm.gif, but he owned the car for 3 months already so he must have already known the boot remote function...could be something else.
4 happened to me before, cant start do to some electronics fault. Had to be towed to the nearest SC and wait for Monday since they're closed on Sundays. It started with my handbrake light also, on all the time as well as my brake lights. This one I sent to an SC in JB and they replaced a faulty switch. A week after that the ESC, handbrake (again) and check engine indicator started to light up. This was when my car couldn't start and had to be towed. This time the SC (Puchong) told me they just played around with the switches, according to them maybe loose (could be the new switch from before). I think they also reset the alarms in the control unit (ECU maybe, I'm not sure).

You can start the car by unplugging the battery for at least 20-30 minutes (if still cannot restart, try unplugging longer) According to the We Care guy I called this will reset the system and you will be able to start your car. But DONT stop the engine unless you really have reached your destination, because you have to unplug the battery to reset again after that just to restart your engine. Happened to me also sweat.gif.
