I have this issue, hope you guys can comment or help out.

The phone is charging however the battery level does not go up. According to the app Galaxy Charging Current, I get a steady '1900' while charging but the battery level still does not go up. I have tried the following:

- Different power outlet
- Different charger
- Different cable

I do however notice that if I plug the cable into my laptop it charges fine, but that's not a solution as it is very slow. Anyone faced the same problem or have a solution to this? Thanks.

How long does your phone take while charging using
1) wall charger
2) PC
*
1) Takes around 6 hours.
2) Haven't tried as it takes too long.

Any idea or advise?

Bring your phone..charger..usb cable to service centre.
Let them check all those 3 items.

I just got back from the service center and it was determined that it is not the phone problem. I am currently using a 'non-original' charger which produces the power output for Note 2 for my S4. Oddly enough, it works perfectly fine for S3 and Note 2 but the battery percentage for S4 does not go up.

Do you have any recommendations on what charger you guys are using for S4 and where I can purchase them? Thanks.

My note 2 and S4 charger are the same leh. Only S3 not the same, lower output.

I know, but I am using the 'non-original' one with the output for Note 2 and it works fine with Note 2 and S3 but for some strange reason the battery percentage does not go up for S4.

Perhaps I should clarify in further details.

Charger specs:
- Non original charger
- Output 2.0A
- Same output for Note 2 and S4

Scenarios
a) Charging S3 and Note 2:
- Works perfectly

b) Charging S4:
- Charging indicated but battery level does not increase

It is just really odd that it does not work with the S4. I've tried charging the S4 using powerbank, S3 charger (1.0A), and via USB to laptop and all works fine; of course it's slower for the latter two options due to lower output.
No idea why this happens or if anyone encounters this as well. Nonetheless, does anyone know a seller where I can purchase a charger which works for the S4?

Just thought of sharing something I found while trying to investigate what exactly is the issue. It appears that there is some sort of detection mechanism with regards to the cable/adapter for the S4. This is of course just assumptions from browsing forum posts.

Am I still the only one facing this issue on this forum?

Nice info there..so I think its better for me to take my fon & charger to samsung & check everytg since my fon is only 2 months old..its kinda annoying to start facing a problem after just 2 months..this is my 1st time on samsung so can anyone tell me where is samsung nearest svc center?im around usj area now..thanks

There is one at the USJ19 mall. However I can assure you that they will merely test your phone by charging it and tell you it's fine, experienced it first hand. I am guessing it's some proprietary standards implemented in the phone which causes this selected charging. Hope someone can shed more light on this though.
