I actually don't mind us going out now because even if it is Chelsea I don't foresee Arsene fielding more than 2 - 3 first team players whereas Mourinho will be pressured to field a freaking strong squad to try and win this tournament in case he fails miserably in the other competitions. The same will go for Pellegrini and Moyes if we meet City and United respectively.

Then again for the youngsters it will be seen as another chance to impress.

good job by the lads, considering we were up against a WBA first team with our team consisting more than half fringe players, with several 18 and 20 yr olds..

Bendy got some nice touches, but he do look so lack of full match fitness..

Wrong. It was West Brom's fringe team as well with 8 changes (from soccernet) made to their team that beat Sunderland 3-0. They only subbed in amalfitano, Morrison and Rosenberg late on.

They played badly, especially Ryo.

Yeap, both Miyaichi and Gnabry were hugely disappointing. Struggled even against second string West Brom full backs which resulted in Nicky B deprived of any service at all.

In contrast that 20 year old Berahino lad was way more impressive. Gave Monreal a torrid time and looked a constant threat.
