QUOTE(michael9413 @ Jan 4 2014, 02:10 PM) 2. is there a way to not get the on screen keyboard to appear every time? u can close it... use task bar properties to activate the toolbars button... u have the touch keyboard button... so every time u use it u need to tap the keyboard button... Keyboard appearing automatically, so you're talking about the modern UI apps instead of the traditional desktop apps right? you can't stop it from appearing automatically when you focus on a textbox, but just a thing to remember is that you can hide it by pressing the keyboard icon in the lower right hand corner, next to the right arrow key, then in the menu that appears, the lower right most icon of a square with a down arrow below it, that's to hide the keyboard.

QUOTE(hhc8 @ Jan 9 2014, 03:32 PM) I have one OTG that detected my mouse, keyboard, Maxis usb modem but the other couldn't. Probably faulty. Can I connect to my monitor via the micro HDMI port? Yeah, shouldn't be a problem.

QUOTE(aneip @ Jan 10 2014, 07:43 AM) Do battery drain when docked is not solved? read it somewhere before.. I lost over 20% battery over 5 hour of sleep. Now testing with ejected hard disk.. wanna see how much the losses.. BTW is there hibernate function? better is I can set it to hibernate when lid is closed and sleep is normal timeout or undock mode.. Seems to be an issue with the 3740 series, cause even the Toshiba Encore reviews says that in connected standby mode it's dropping too rapidly. For reference, my Dell venue Pro 8 lost 5% in almost 16 hours worth of standby.

QUOTE(ajay67 @ Jan 10 2014, 10:13 AM) but it only happens when docked to keyboard only. if not docked, the lost is minimal. Well, then it could be the hard disk like others have suggested.

QUOTE(rendude @ Jan 10 2014, 12:07 PM) Note, when u press the hibernate icon, screen will turn off quickly followed by camera white led turn on for a few seconds indicating system is hibernating. to turn your tab on again...press power button 2 times, 1st for 1-2 seconds followed by long 2nd press until screen turn on. that's it. this needs more tests which i dun have time...so if something bad happens...dun blame me if tab refuse to turn on...u can try connect your charger and press power button for 2 seconds...but i never encounter this before. gud luck. If it fails to turn on, first hold the power button for 10 seconds this is the hard off switch, let go, wait a few seconds, then try turning on as normal

QUOTE(schok @ Jan 15 2014, 02:40 PM) Hi, newbie here. Just got mine at (surprisingly) Asia city, Kota Kinabalu. It looks like they got a lot of stock. I was in a business trip then I thought why not. Price was rm1399 with hdd and yes the charger rating is 3A as well. Hope it is ok. Btw what happens if I don't charge it full 8 hours? Only have time for 2 hours.. If later I charge it back to 8 hours will it make a difference? Thx guys Don't worry if you don't charge it for more than 8 hours, Li Ion don't work like that any more. As for the 3A adapter, don't worry about it, more Amps just means there's more current to charge faster.

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jan 16 2014, 12:45 PM) just fyi... there are a few critical/ important updates from Windows. usually, anything related to Windows and is NOT optional, i install. <-- security and stability concerns. there are a few optional driver updates. i have left them as it is since there are reported cases of things breaking after that. anyway, i checked Asus website and there is a BIOS update that is dated 7th Jan 2014. hmmm... anyone updated that? also, just curious... how many actually configured to use MS login (with MSN, outlook.com or even hotmail). You have to use an MS account to login if you want to get anything from the Windows Store / Modern UI side of things.

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jan 16 2014, 02:08 PM) but i guess if one wanna go the traditional way (install via exe files from net/ DVD/CD), then it is possible not to use the MS accounts, right? but i think even mail, etc can still work (meaning opt not to use MS account as T100 login). just wondering... that all. You won't be able to update the applications like that if I'm not mistaken.

QUOTE(mydragoon @ Jan 20 2014, 10:13 AM) which reminds me... it seems there are two video players -- one is the Windows Media Player accessible from DESKTOP and the other is the VIDEO player, from START. haiz... so confusing. i've yet to find a way to make the VIDEO player (from START) to detect and play MKV files. ah... thanks. I'm pretty sure the Modern UI Video Player is not extendable, because previously Windows Media Player worked by allowing all the pluggable codecs, which is why you have all the K-Lite packs etc. etc., and sometimes those things just broke the heck out of WMP, causing everyone to hate and scorn WMP. That's why in Win7 they locked WMP's MP4 codecs to their internal ones, and now they're probably doing the same thing for the modern UI video player. Personally I recommend Media Player Classic Home Cinema Edition!, just go download the 64 pixel height buttons if you think the current buttons are too small to touch.
