Nice to have our own thread.

My first topic, for Scholar punya Selene fairy,
I really cant understand why the silence spell only last for 1 second.
*
I think it is more towards interrupt casting and not to prevent casting per-emptively.

Having trouble a bit keeping pet alive in Aurum Vale dungeon. the aoe thing from boss really hurts the pet lol
*
For AV first boss, it is impossible to keep your fairy alive, just let her spam some AOE heal and let her die off, alternatively just swiftcast summon her back after she die but that will not be mana friendly. My advise is to let her die off and you take over her role for once as a true healer haha (if you know what i mean). As for the last boss of AV, Succor will put a shield on her as well and that will totally stop any dmg inflicted on her since the aoe dmg and the dot dmg from the boss is minimal.

A lot of boss fight in FF14 will put SCH at a disadvantage over a WHM, no choice but to suck it up and move on cry.gif

oh? means the fairy will be clever enough to cast it during the enemy spell casting?
because can say most of the time i see the spell in cooldown, so i thought the fairy simply use it for no reason.
*
She should but note that her maximum range for auto casting is very much lower than what it seems. Notice she will only auto cast embrace at a shorter range but if you manually press the embrace, her range is the same as yours. So for her to auto cast anything, just go nearer to the target.

during my old arcanist day...is impossible to get gold in fate provided is a boss fight..our dots are so slow to even wait for the 1st tick...so i decided to heal those tank or mages who doing their aoe fest...especially those fate involve in npc helping you to fight the mobs...healing them will get credit as well...cnj is quite tough to join fates on low level but during 45 you will shine..fare enough i would say that they had been suffering till lvl 45 to get their ultimate ks fate skill...the holy

The trick to any class without AOE to get EXP from FATE is by 'tag' and 'tab'.

Meaning, you tag a mob by hitting it or by DOT and then you move on to the next mob which you have not hit/DOT. Doesn't matter the mob is almost dead and your DOT don't even tick. As long as the DOT appear on the mob before it died. Keep doing it and at the end, you will get the same EXP with those who spam AOE.

Exception for boss FATE, in which case, a single DOT will not be sufficient, You need to contribute more, just do your normal DPS.

how do i do tagging? icon_question.gif
*
When i say tag, i mean damaging a mob. tag and move on to next mob, the fate system for multiple mob elimination counts how many mob you damage, be it one damage or you kill it on your own, it will still count.

conclusion: Hit as many mobs as you can. If you are dot class, one dot per mob

i am not really sure abt tagging...i tried to dot each of the fate mob with my arcanist last time and i end up with bronze or no exp...sometimes with silver if the mob manage to stay long abit..so i end up healing instead till i have miasma 2 or get into party to help you in getting gold chance...tldr just get a party for fate grinding and you should be fine
*
You might be dotting the same mob over and over. For you to get max EXP, you have to be quick. I usually use poison (insta dot). poison Mob A, wait for cd to finish, poison Mob B, cycle your target using 'tab' that is why the tactic called Tag and Tab.

UNLESS of course you are dealing with FATE boss (only one big mob for all to kill). In that case, you have to deal damage as usual to get max EXP.

What Tri-disaster good for? 3 sec casting time with puny potency? Replace it with something useful SE!
*
It binds the target and all around it.

If Dot were on the target, dot will continue to dmg the target while it is binded.

Some example of uses on boss fight:-

1. Boss that have adds, Castrum duty as example, when adds spawns, you dot one of them up, bane and then tri-disaster.

2. Garuda fight, when feather spawns, quickly cast tri-disaster on Garuda via swiftcast (THM cross class skill), bane Garuda. Now you have most feather with dots.

The spell is very situational but is far from being useless.

yea that what i was thinking, Castrum and Garuda fight. And for the plumes, did you put a single dot or all 3 before using bane?
*
For Garuda fight, you need to ensure all your bane-able dots were on her all the time, timing is essential. I suggest you use contagion when she is close to jumping phase, that way the dots will still remain on her after she jumps. After jump, she will summon plumes, that is the time you swiftcast+ tri-disaster and double check all your dots (refresh bio if timer drops low) and then bane.

*note: After you bind the plumes at place, one dot will break it free. Therefore, make sure DOTs were on Garuda all the time, so that you can bane her, instead of dotting the plumes which i don't see you have time doing so as it will break bind and the plume that you dot move away from the rest pretty quickly.

i always wondering. is there a need to stack miasma and miasma II?
since the disease effect doesnt stack. at most we get additional DoT
*
Miasma II is an AOE around you, for adds, yes, the DOT from miasma II will contribute some dps. But in a boss fight, it is not advisable to run close to the boss to cast maisma II.

Function i found for miaisma II is during FATE. Run into a group, spam Maiasma II, walah, you are done. Move to other group to spread miasma II.

Something to share regarding SMN max dps rotation:-

» Click to show Spoiler - click again to hide... «

Things to note:

1. Dots under raging Strike cannot be overlapse. Therefore, you need to wait till the stronger version of Dots under the effect of raging strike to wear off before reapplying. This require close monitor of your Dots counter and start to cast your Dots 1.5-2 sec (depending on how lag you are) before the powered version of Dots wear off.

2. You will start to have low mana if you follow this pattern around 5 min into the fight. Either, gimp your DPS by casting energy drain in a set. Or ask for mage's ballard from BRD.

3. Always use Ruin over RuinII for mana efficiency and only use RuinII if you need to case Rouse/Spur. *Rouse/Spur must be on CD all the time, meaning, use it when it is ready for optimal DPS*

For me as a SMN= DPS > INT > Critical chance > Determination = Spell Speed > VIT

1. For all classes, a +1 DPS weapon is always better than any +1 stats (ANY, yes include INT).

2. Critical Chance: All of your dot have a chance to crit.

3. VIT: Only get this to the health range you want via accessories for Titan HM run. Aside form that, not important enough to sacrifice other stats for VIT.

For SCH/SMN, get the +1 relic first, it is the biggest upgrade per myth for the class.
