I think it is more towards interrupt casting and not to prevent casting per-emptively.

Having trouble a bit keeping pet alive in Aurum Vale dungeon. the aoe thing from boss really hurts the pet lol

oh? means the fairy will be clever enough to cast it during the enemy spell casting?
because can say most of the time i see the spell in cooldown, so i thought the fairy simply use it for no reason.

For AV first boss, it is impossible to keep your fairy alive, just let her spam some AOE heal and let her die off, alternatively just swiftcast summon her back after she die but that will not be mana friendly. My advise is to let her die off and you take over her role for once as a true healer haha (if you know what i mean). As for the last boss of AV, Succor will put a shield on her as well and that will totally stop any dmg inflicted on her since the aoe dmg and the dot dmg from the boss is minimal.

A lot of boss fight in FF14 will put SCH at a disadvantage over a WHM, no choice but to suck it up and move on


She should but note that her maximum range for auto casting is very much lower than what it seems. Notice she will only auto cast embrace at a shorter range but if you manually press the embrace, her range is the same as yours. So for her to auto cast anything, just go nearer to the target.

I'm signing in as well, hope to have many happy moons as a SMN since that's probably what I am gonna stick to. Hope they buff it somewhat to kick BLM @$$.

not to mention the sunken temple first boss doom spell is a sure death for our fairies

It is always nice to have something follow you around. aside from chocobo and useless minions

I think most people look towards WHM for main heals, but I think SCH is underestimated for heals.

But, according to a WHM I played with recently, SCH's job in dungeons (especially primal hard mode fights) is to pre-shield / heal DPS and Sacred Soil.

Since end-game hasn't exactly started yet, hopefully people will open their minds and realise that SCH is a pretty good main heal too.

Oh i mean running AV as SMN, never done AV as SCH yet. But last 2 run i went into as SMN, somehow my garuda managed to stay alive for the whole fight at the last boss.
I had a glimpse of my pet position and saw her at far back at the entrance while dpsing, weird enuff didnt kena the dot from the boss. lol

Yeah on first boss yeah my pet always died and usually re-summon back only once though.After that didnt bother to do it lol

so what stat you guys put on arcanist?

just dump all on int lol..my summoner only have 5 points of pie..not sure i am doing it right but if u can manage your mana well with aetherflow and energy drain shud be ok

As a warrior, I love SCH HoTs more than WHM big heals.

So the useful cross skills that SMN/SCH can use is from CNJ and THM only right? Stoneskin from CNJ and Swiftcast from THM?

Those cross skills in DoW like not much useful to SMN/SCH.
So I can say get from CNJ and THM is the best.
Especially that Aero and Thunder. Further extend our DOT amount xD

I find stoneskin and swiftcast the best among the rest imho.

SCH really need to have Stoneskin & Swiftcast to make gameplay easier for them, not having them just means that you're going to be less viable , less as in still needed, but not as usefull as those SCH/SMN that has access to thier full potentials.
