So many steps just to flash hawkish. I update the recent twrp and flash 4.3 roms. Works fine without reroot.
Actually I didn't know that after flashing to Hawkish 4.3, I will lose the root. Samsung Galaxy Note II LYN's Official Thread V27, 4.3 is here, but no Note 3 features

QUOTE(sacremento @ Oct 21 2013, 11:30 AM) I had problems flashing 4.3 roms on outdated recovery. The old recovery doesnt support 4.3 roms. After getting the latest TWRP everything works fine. No need to flash SuperSU again. Yeah, I think my CWM could be too outdated for 4.3.http://teamw.in/project/twrp2/115 I think this should be the latest version? Or I'll go for Philz. |

QUOTE(sacremento @ Oct 21 2013, 11:48 AM) If you wanna to use TWRP you can try this link. Thanks for pointing it out. http://goo.im/devs/OpenRecovery/t03g/openr....6.3.0-t03g.zip Changelog 2.6.3.0 Proper backup and restore of SELinux contexts (thanks to Tassadar) Pull in some ROM information for backup name generation Merge all recent patches from AOSP bringing TWRP up to date with Android 4.3 Add 1200x1920 theme (thanks to Tassadar) A few other fixes and tweaks Change to GPL exfat kernel module to work around exfat-fuse bugs 2.6.1.0 Initial SELinux support (only a few devices, need testers so come by IRC if your device doesn't have it and needs it) Initial support for f2fs file system formatting (Moto X) Update SuperSU install for 4.3 ROMs Fixed a permissions bug on files created during backup Fixed a bug that caused TWRP to not wait for compressed backups to finish causing 0 byte files and md5sums to not match Fixed decryption of encrypted data so that both TouchWiz and AOSP decryption are possible Ignore lost+found folder during backup and size calculations Various other minor bug fixes and tweaks source : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1938733 I did want to check out XDA first before I download, looks like you are faster than me. QUOTE(sacremento @ Oct 21 2013, 12:24 PM) Yes. Dont forget nandroid backup. Bad thing about me is I don't do Nandroid backup. There will be a notification by Goo.im for an update after flashing. Ignore it since the dev said it is buggy. Just stay with 3.4. OK, need to have this habit. QUOTE(Vad3r @ Oct 21 2013, 01:19 PM) I've been trying to copy MKV files (8GB) from desktop to my Note II's external memory card (still have 26GB free space) but always stops at around 4GB. Limitation of the memory card format.Any idea why? Exfat and FAT32 cannot transfer more than 4GB at once. Only with NTFS can but I don't think Note II supports that format. So, the only way is take out your micro SD and put in a card reader and transfer. |

For those on leaked 4.3, can you please confirm if the business cards feature is available for you?
Just like screenshot shown on the link below? https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?act=Atta...post&id=3684756 sacremento and Eiraku This post has been edited by fruitie: Oct 21 2013, 02:24 PM |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 21 2013, 02:40 PM) On Wanam 4.0, it's NOT available. Got the screenie but let's save you the trouble cause it's just missing on my ROM. That said I need sac to confirm because I routinely TiBu stuff out of my ROMs to lighten them up (system apks included) so it might just be that. Probably Cynox as well for Hawkish? I find it useful for my contacts saving in the future. This post has been edited by fruitie: Oct 21 2013, 02:44 PM |

QUOTE(sacremento @ Oct 21 2013, 02:45 PM) Mine doesnt work. The option is there but FC when selected. Not sure bout other 4.3 roms. Anyway i did a dirty flash and played around with xposed framework. So im not sure whether it is the rom or my phone because of too many mods. OK, I will do a clean wipe and let's see how it goes. QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Oct 21 2013, 02:46 PM) Yeah, I found out that as well. But if it could work outright, that's perfect. QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 21 2013, 02:50 PM) I think even Ex-Fat has as well but I have never tried transferring more than 4GB before. |

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 21 2013, 03:09 PM) I've been searching for a proper working port if the "Optical Reader" apk (the guts behind the "Business Card" option). No joy so far (except one half working port for the S3), so unless Sammy is planning to give it to us in the official 4.3 release, cam card is as good as it gets. The one I have for Note 3 supports many different languages, includes Japanese as well. Which is sad considering the Optical Reader can read multiple languages and pipe it up to s-translate, Jap included. |

I don't know why people say Note II lags? I have never felt any lagging, the smoothness is comparable to my Note 3 as well.

QUOTE(Eiraku @ Oct 23 2013, 02:30 AM) Camcard should fill the gap if you really need that feature. Oh God. Handwriting faces FC. Hmm. Now tempted to try out the air command apps. Check if your Sammy keyboard is working fine with no FCs? Even handwriting mode? No continuous input although I have enabled it? By the way, how to disable the data packet from showing on the notification panel. Keeps showing how much is the download speed? This post has been edited by fruitie: Oct 23 2013, 02:49 AM |

QUOTE(edan1979 @ Oct 23 2013, 06:21 AM) if you look at the actual thread of the n3 apps port. there is already a fix for the keyboard FC. the one with the MI6 keyboard FC when using pen input. you need to replace myscript resource manager apps. Thanks for it, will download tonight. can download the files here http://www.mediafire.com/download/ywm2remw...urceManager.apk btw its the fix for N2 mi6 stock keyboard. if your firmware using the port N3 keyboard. you might want to download the new one which is now on ver 1.8 QUOTE(gin&tonic @ Oct 23 2013, 06:57 AM) Haha. For 4.3, else I haven't done any flashing since I fixed my Note II 2 months ago. Stock rooted FTW.QUOTE(antt00 @ Oct 23 2013, 08:03 AM) 1) Which hand writing? Screen write? 1) Handwriting recognition on stock keyboard? 2) Continuous input not working is a known issue. 3) About the data packer, what rom you using? Only certain rom have that implemented. Its a Dr. Ketan feature. 2) Just knew. 3) Joeldroid QUOTE(sacremento @ Oct 23 2013, 08:44 AM) The network meter is an option in aroma installer. You can disable it in wanam exposed. Just change the position of the clock. I tried to search in Wanam but couldn't find it, so the clock positioning will disable it. Thanks! There's a new patch for joeldroid. Check the 3.4.3 changelog. They should fix the keyboard issue already. |
