hi guys, yesterday i rent a perodua viva in sabah for 2 days. instead of giving me perodua viva,
they give me p.kenari but in document they put p.viva. Today JPJ stopped my car and gave summon
because of third brake light not function and its under my name.

i think its not my fault and JPJ officer told me to ask car rental company to pay summon,
if they didn't do so, i can make a report to any jpj hq and TTPM.

its that possible to ask car rental company to settle the summon? hmm.gif

did u hire from a proper car renting company or just some dude?

last time i rented a car in 2008, the company has a checklist form. when i took the car, both of us went through the checklist one by one, from headlights to tire condition to body surfaces. so if anything happens, we know exactly whose responsibility it would be.

in ur case, if u dont have the checklist form, the company might argue it was fine when u took it. later it'll become ur word vs their word.

It is ur fault actually. U should have checked the car b4 signing it. But im not sure about the car u got n what is stated in the form. Logically, the agreement is void if what is stated in agreement is different from what u got. Meaning u drive the car and if anything happens, it will be under ur full responsibility coz the car rental did not give approval for u to use the car. But u were aware of this, n signed it. So, this is a bit tricky.

Hi there, Im representative of grandpride.com where we focus much on car rental. If in such scenario that happens to our customer , we will pay for your summons . You should look for the person in charge instead of talking to their workers cause their works does not have much say to that matter. I hope i did manage to help you solve your matter.

thank you.
