JPJ summon on rented car

hi guys,yesterday i rent a perodua viva in sabah for 2 days. instead of giving me perodua viva,
they give me p.kenari but in document they put p.viva. Today JPJ stopped my car and gave summon because of third brake light not function and its under my name. i think its not my fault and JPJ officer told me to ask car rental company to pay summon, if they didn't do so, i can make a report to any jpj hq and TTPM. its that possible to ask car rental company to settle the summon?  |

i rented in airport.there is a booth. they do fill up the checklist but didn't went through one by one like u do.
