Noob question here bros, so I am already level 23 and yet to get my chocobo and mounts. Thing is I started as a THM and then changed midway to ACN to get SMN as a job. Does this affect where I get my main quest? Is my main quest the one in Ul'dah or Lominsa now? Do I have to continue as a THM to further the main quest story? If so that sucks!

You should still be following the Ul'duar main storyline.

no u dont have to change back to THM.. but if your other classes r not as high lv as your main its impossible for u to do the quest. plus new classes r harder to level

You wanna make your ACN as main now? Main quest doesn't affect by this,only you need to lvl your ACN as same level as your main quest level requirement only. So the only thing changes is you need to get your class quest in Limsa for now on.

Your main quests always follow the starting city of your first class, and no it's not really hard to level another class, a few quests from the class starting city + hunting log + FATE will easily get you up to speed.

Thanks for all the other replies too. In short, YES it seems I might have to go back to Ul'dah to do my main quests but I don't need to be a THM? Just to clarify, my THM is lvl16 and my ACN is lvl23. The reason is SMN needs THM 15 and ACN30. So you can see where I am going with this. I tried to continue the 'main quest' that I had as a THM in Ul'dah with the guild but it needs me to get back to THM to continue. Does this mean I need to be lvl20 as a THM to get the mount? This isn't very clear at all.

No you won't need THM, class quest and main story quest are separate thing, though it'll just be a bit inconvenient for you to go back to Limsa for your class quest every 5 levels
Still you might want to look into the cross class skill from THM that might find useful levelling up to get though, I haven't try any magic class so can't really comment on that part.

ADDED: Mount is story based so as long as you reach that part of the main story you'll get the quest for it, regardless of the class you are doing it with

Main story quest goes all around the world, so yeah u need to go to which zone u stopped before.
U mean THM guild issit? of course u need to be a THM first to get the THM class quest. The mount you get is from the main story quest, not class quest line.

Also you seem to be confused about class quest and story quest

class quest = must be done on that particular class
story quest/other quest = doesn't matter which class you use as long as it's sufficient level

Thanks for clarifying this, so if I wanna continue on my STORY QUEST as an ACN, where would it be? In Lominsa I take it? And it should be from that guy at the bar? So confuses, my preciousssssssssssssss.

If you continue your story quest as ACN you will need to go back to Ul'dah, because that's where your story quest started.

In short your starting class in this case THM dictates where your story quest starts from, meaning Ul'dah, so what you need to do is go back to the last place you turn in your story quest or check your journal for the next step of your story quest and just continue from there as ACN. Story quest are mark with a flame thing around it.

your story will go on as which city u started in the beginning.. nothing to do with the classes that you play

last night i completed my first ever instance run since 1.0 haha went into the satasha. everybody was very silent but all in all, it was a good run. takes 20 min to gather a light party..

silent is good and all - but pray don't get bad players like I did

im very lucky that i have helpful FC members to run with.. usually it wont take so long if u unlock all the 'languages' in duty finder
