QUOTE(zenwell @ Feb 4 2014, 03:44 PM) I have a question to ask about Mach By HLB. In the website it says min RM1000 to open a saving account, is this saving account works as FD also? Example, i bank in Rm1000 for 6 mths it stays there means I'm entitled for fd rate of 3.25%p.a.? Opening account only needs rm50. Then u can deposit rm1000 into yr savings acct. login to hl connect click on yr savings acct, then click on fixed deposit. There is a drop down list to select the promo 3.7% for 6months Don't understand? Check this thread previous post from page 50 onwards or go to Mach branch where yr questions will be answered

QUOTE(BoomChaCha @ Feb 6 2014, 04:49 PM) Friendly no use lah.. ..you think we go to massage palace meh..? What we need is efficiency.. I agree. the other day i opened my mach account in branch, they didnt informed me the debit card annual fee charges(I'm already aware of the charges b4 I open the acct) and promoting their credit card without even explaining the T&C to me. We as consumers really have to protect ourselves by reading FAQ, T&C, visit forums, ask questions to understand the product/service. If not, we will be disappointed by the banks/salesperson/promoters so called "service".

Deposit rm50 for money box and u can open fd account by yourself. When you're at the branch, the staffs will guide you. Take note, debit card annual fees is rm8. I think u can refer to page 52-54 of this thread as well for more info. This post has been edited by sonicbull: Feb 22 2014, 08:25 PM

QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Feb 24 2014, 09:37 PM) New and existing. Mach account all placement online. Don't think they have any incentive for new customers. 3.7% for 6 months, promo ending end Feb. Welcome. Small fry only la. Mach FD has been on for so long but I recently only decide to open an account there. Hi, after 6 months, will our fd be renewed for 3.7% again?

QUOTE(bearbear @ Feb 25 2014, 09:46 AM) No, this 3.7% promo last till 28 Feb only. 6 months later will be auto renew to board rate. So far MACH has been doing promo based on the expiry of 1st batch promo, not sure if they can follow the trend Early 2013 - 12 months 4% Early 2014 (when customer of last year's promo FD would expire) - 6 months 3.7% Thanks for the reply. Put Rm1,000 & 6 months later I gained Rm18.50 as interest. Is my calculation correct?

QUOTE(bearbear @ Feb 25 2014, 09:39 PM) Remember there is a fixed cost of RM8 involved, you need to deposit more to offset is so that the % look higher. Thanks for the tip!QUOTE(munkeyflo @ Feb 25 2014, 10:22 PM) Depends on the FD promo and what you instruct it to do when you do the placement also I guess. When I placed new FD, it didn't allow me to choose and under Auto-Renewal, it states "Yes". So I assume it's gonna be auto renewed upon maturity. Hong Leong Mach FD Depending on the instructions upon placement. From experience with various banks, most of the time it's auto-renew unless you specify to credit back into account when you do the placement. If you do online FD like on M2U, then can change the instructions anytime. Yup. Mach FD is monthly interest credited into your account. So it's only RM3.08 monthly into your money box account for 6 months. You big player interest also go in by the thousands ma. thank you for the clarification

QUOTE(quidnuncs @ Mar 2 2014, 02:12 AM) hi /k, wanna ask. If i put a 50k into maybank fd, if i plan to put it for 1 month and renew monthly, how much interested would i get every month in that case? Or any good solution for a 50k fd deposit? Thanks in advance Assume 3% interest, you'll get rm1,520.80 in interest for 1 year tenure. You can visit compound interest calculator or download app to calculate your monthly interest. You can consider FD laddering or check for the promos listed on the first page of this thread. My opinion given is based on this 50k is extra cash for combo of emergency funds savings & investment.

Guys, need your help here about mach hl fd.
I put in 1k into fd promo@3.7% for 6 months. I realised that the fd interest credited into my account is different.
1st time: 3.14 2nd month: 2.84
I use compound interest calculator and I just can't get these two figures. Anyone can help? Thanks.
