I plan to place my FD via MB2U e-FD. For the withdrawal on maturity date, I presumed I can just transfer the money back to my account without the need to go to the branch. Correct me if I'm wrong. Is the e-FD interest same for the conventional FD rates?

You are right.

... got to know from the bank that there is no more "tier-type-of-fix-deposit" because central bank instruction ... I guess it the type of fix deposit that give you first month 2%, second month 3% and so on, where a depositor will get an average of % in the whole year ... please clarify yourself with your banks if need more info as this is just information I got to know ... cheers guys ...

This is VERY GOOD acvtion by Bank Negara.... using marketing ploy of big % to "trick" customers.
I find this very Unethical.

Yes, I hate those banks who did this last year. So god damn misleading those who are unaware of the effective rate and other binding terms. How pathetic can they get by advertising the rates by tier with sky high rates, seriously.

I think PB, CIMB and/or HSBC were the biggest culprits!

PBB is better to quote "effective rate" ...
HLB is the worse !!!

a great idea there, but I am just worried if this is considered as illegal deposit taking by the rep or the one who started this ? and then bnm take legal proceeds and freeze our fund ? any lawyer here can give any heads up ? unsure.gif

No illegal deposit taking as each individual will go to the Bank to perform your own FD with given a special "preferential FD rate"
