Not a problem with US, Japan and EU countries since they've fast connections for their downloads.. But for us.. :/

Oh yes.. One of the greatest news today.

I never knew that Polyphony Digital had a contract to develop the multifunctional display of the upcoming GT-R .. That may be the cause why the GT-R appears in every one of the GT5 trailers.

Thats' why the display interface looks alot like the Gran Turismo UI.

The demo is amazing. Period.

But I really hope PD will iron out the jaggies, tweak the shadows, and any other flaws when they release the final game.

The black mask on the GT-R and the blue cloth does look realistic.

FYI beneath the cloth lies the upcoming Subaru Impreza WRX..

Sadly the Ferrari is not playable in the demo of the demo. (I wanted the Ferrari too )


All we need is to wait for the Tokyo Motor Show (Oct.26) to come for the cars to be revealed and unlocked.
Anyone here tried changing the PS3 clock and see whether that works ?

About the translation for the news page :

The first one is about the unveiling of the locked cars.
It says that the game will have synchronized events with the upcoming 40th Tokyo Motor Show.
And there might be changes to the cars between 23-25th of this month.
And on the 23rd of October, at around midnight, the GT-R will be unveiled and may not be able to be driven.

The second one is about Gran Turismo TV.
It stated that GTTV will broadcast promotional movies of planned shows and free original shows for GT5P.
It will be announced in the news section, therefore asking us to check it back regularly.
It also states that you're not able to select GT-TV right now, as we speak.

The third one is thanking you for downloading the demo of GT5P.
It states that we're able to enjoy a portion of the prologue in advance of the Dec.13 release date.
It also stated that (again) there will be synchronized unveiling events with the Tokyo Motor Show by having new cars to drive in the game, and the broadcast of the motor show coverage

The text below it is the disclaimer notes, which are :
- This demo is merely a small portion of GT5P which may differ from the final product
- Online services cannot be used when offline
- Upon release of the full GT5P, all online services in the demo (unveiling, GTTV, the news) will become unavailable)
- If save game data is deleted after the completion of the online services, you may not be able to move pass the unveiling stage anymore. So please handle the save game with care.

Thats' about it.

Center console does look alike. So does the speedos.
The console is made by them, so as expected they'll include it in the game

Guys, got my Japanese copy 5 days ago.

Been trying to update, but hell, it doesn't even complete half a bar.

Tried out at around 1-2 in the morning as suggested by Ninja, but still no luck.
Guess I'll be missing out the online races for sometime until I get to update it

And regarding the F430 Mission Race, I think it was pretty easy for me, got a gold on my first try. Maybe it was a strike of luck that my team mate didn't suck

Anyone here have the 599GTB ? It does amazing speeds (330km/h+ tried on the Daytona Speedtrack - Thru slipstreaming)..

32.xx million credits for the 599..

A hell to earn. Even the F430 was already difficult (24.xx million credits)

I got my F430 before even unlocking the B class events
Been racing the C class London track on the Integra Type R non-stop to gain the credits to purchase the Ferrari. (which the first prize awards you 750k credits). I guess it's because it only takes me 58-59 seconds to complete one lap on the track on the Integra.

In my opinion, it's better not to overtake the first R8 before the second lap. Inspect how your team mate is doing first only you try to overtake him. If it doesn't go well, restart

For me, I didn't overtake the first R8 until I reach the second lap, just before the turning after the straight (the position grids).

What I did was, I don't know was it actually cheating or not la, but I accidentally knocked the first-place R8 off. Not a strong bang so I only got about 3 seconds penalty, and that was the time that my team mate catched up. That was during the sharp turn after crossing under the bridge (I think you should know where this is, where there is alot of sand on the right side), where even your speed is limited to 50km/h because of the penalty, it doesn't really bother much.

Yup, raced a lot. After unlocking the B-class, I've been racing the Clubman Sports with the Ferrari F430, against the lower spec cars like Z4, Integra and the Clio V6.. Can beat them by a lap

Something really funny happened to me in GT5P. I wonder if anyone here had experienced before.

Lost control on the Daytona Speedtrack A-class when two cars gangbanged me when doing the turning, and my Ferrari F430 spun 7 times in the air.
Not exactly in the air, but it's like slunting.. You've to see the replays

And then, the same thing happened when I was driving the 599GTB on the same event.. which spun more!

I've both replays, if anyone wants them..

You could extract them by first inserting a USB thumbdrive into your PS3's port, head to your desired save file / replay to be copied, press Triangle and select the Copy option. From there then you'll come across where you want your save game to be saved, and just select the USB thumbdrive.

I've mine (the Ferrari cars spinning) uploaded at rapidshare, if any one wants them I can PM you the link and see whether it works on your PS3's.

Now maybe it's time to share our best laptimes or funny/hilarious replays.

That's exactly the same thing I did.

You'll know that you're in the slipstream when there's no "wind" sound, and your acceleration will be much, much faster.

The only choice is Integra Type R. No other cars.

Race to the first place by slipstreaming. That's the only way to conquer 15 positions in just one lap.

There's a guide a few pages back, search for it

Tailgating and overtaking the other cars & maintain your speed. And continue your slipstream.

And turn off all the SM, TC and the AB like what aaron said, overrev the car till 9k only you switch gears.
That way you could gain speed much faster than the others. Don't worry, the engine won't die on you

Other than that, keep on practicing, and notify us how it goes.
