one of the version do have force feedback. i forgot which one, either the US or Jap version tongue.gif
It's Japan version. There's a setup for 'Force Feedback' in the option menu.

On the other news:

Gran Turismo HD at Euro launch, GT5 "Prologue" in Autumn

QUOTE
JeuxVideo reported that the Gran Turismo HD demo will be available for free download from the moment Europeans get their PlayStation 3s. Well, take a tip from this side of the Atlantic: once you get your PS3 to the nearest broadband outlet, get that download ticket reserved as early as possible. Last time this happened on this side of the Atlantic, rumor was the traffic from LA backed up to San Diego. Maybe even Tijuana.

JeuxVideo also mentioned the other Gran Turismo that Polyphony Digital is serving up: Gran Turismo 5. Expected release is Spring 2008, JeuxVideo said. But the icing on the cake is that Polyphony "will launch as of the autumn 2007" Gran Turismo 5 Prologue via "remote loading" (probably means download).

But there are no exact details about what it will entail, other than "new vehicles and circuits" and online play (or were they referring to the Blu-Ray disc instead of the Prologue?).

The article also mentions the "startup" of Gran Turismo Network with GT5. No details offered - so we don't know if this is Polyphony's multiplayer match service for GT5, or (in the ideal world) a persistent online arena.

One thing at a time, though. Worry about trying to download the HD demo first. It's quite possible that everyone else in Europe will.

New update at Gran-turismo.com. They added 3 new screens; Sarthe track and 2 new Audi car model - The Audi TT coupe and the Audi R8. And, there's rumour going on that this will be added to GTHD as additional downloadable content; soon.

E3 2007: Gran Turismo 5 Prologue

No waiting until 2008 to try GT5. The online-enabled Prologue demo is coming this year.

July 11, 2007 - Gran Turismo 5 is still on the distant horizon, but following the success of Gran Turismo HD as a free download on the PlayStation Store (over one million downloads). Later this year, Sony will tease GT5 with the release of a downloable demo called Gran Turismo 5 Prologue. Prologue is going to be a full-featured demo that includes online functionality for multiplayer racing.

Sony unspoiled a brief demo of the game on the big screen -- it looks extremely promising, running in full HD. The demo trailer started with a pit crew poring over a Ferrari before it tore down a race track. The camera flies into the car as the driver squeals away. The camera swings behind the driver before swooping out to follow the car as it roars down the asphalt. Even from outside the car, you can see an incredible amount of detail within the racing machine, from the contours of the driver's helmet to instruments on the dash.

The trailer revealed several environments, from a nighttime city run to a traditional race track. Cityscapes looking quite European in flavor sported detailed architecture and texture work. There was a run through a lush landscape, too, with the sun poking through vegetation to create some fancy lighting effects. The trailer was short, ending with a static shot of a polished ride sitting in a city square.

Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Set For October
An online sampling of the full GT5 in just a few months.

Your next taste of Gran Turismo may come a bit earlier than expected. Following an impressive showing at E3 last week, Polyphony flew back to Tokyo in time for today's PlayStation Premier event where it announced that Gran Turismo 5 Prologue will be released to the Japanese market in October!

As for the content set to be included in Prologue, according to Sony's press materials, we can look forward to a variety of cars, including some set to debut at this October's Tokyo Motor Show. The game will also have online play.

The only question is cost. The game's pricing is listed as "TBA," which suggests that it might not end up being the free download that everyone was hoping for following last year's big demo gift.

Latest GT5 Details from Famitsu:

# The game could be released on 10/24/2007 to coincide with the 2007 Tokyo Motor Show. Being that this years Tokyo Motor Show will be "revolutionary" for Japanese automakers debuting their brand new sports cars.

# Various new online features will be announced and the game will be playable at the Leipzig show this month

# GT:HD Concept will be removed from the PSN network when Prolouge is released

# GT Prolouge will be Home compatible

# There will be a "My Page" screen selectable from the title. Having given the online race component a lot of thought, the "My Page" will store your friends list, even calender, ranking etc. The online component will try to build an online community like social networking sites like "My Space", "Mixi" (Japanese MySpace equivalent)

# While the game is called "Grand Turisimo Prologue" it will be less like an arcade mode but closer to a simplified version of "Grand Turismo Mode" in the other GT games; making money, buying cars, etc.

# It will be a Grand Turismo "World". In the final version they would like to have people be able to walk around a town and look at cars. They will creating each detail of the city as well as the car. Other then Tokyo they will have scenic views like natural environments as well.

# GT:Prologue will have 40 cars and 4 race tracks (8 different configurations). Including tracks not seen before.

# When asked about downloadable content, he responds "now right now, but likely later on". When asked if the "Grand Turismo Award" winners from the 2006 SEMA shown in Las Vegas will be available; tuned 1960 Corvette and HKS CT230R Yamauchi responds, "I think one of the them. "

# Cockpit view will be available. If you are using the steering wheel you can look around in the cockpit using the d-pad. For instance, it the Ferrari F430 you can appreciate the shine off the carbon fiber and the quality of the black leather seats. You can tell the quality difference in the leather of the Ferrari versus other cars.

# In Grand Turismo 5 you will be able to fully customize the interior.

# Depending on which car you drive your clothing will be different. Different helmet designs and other details that relate to the car manufacter.

#There will be 16-cars on track for a full grid race. At present they are trying to figure out how many people can play against each other simultaneously online. For online, that number may shrink to 12.

# B-spec Mode is planned for GT5, it is unclear if it will make GTP.

# Grand Turismo Prologue save data will be usable in Grand Turismo 5; including any money you earn in GT:P will be transfered to GT5.

Aik.. which one is correct? Here it says GT Mobile will be released prior to GT5.. tongue.gif

QUOTE
Game site The Magic Box is reporting that in an interview with Best Car magazine, Gran Turismo creator Kazunori Yamauchi stated that the PSP version of the game would be released prior to the appearance of GT5 for PlayStation 3.

Officially, no one currently knows exactly when that will be, of course, with expectations ranging from March to July to Christmas next year (although given Polyphony Digital's track record, a 2009 release wouldn't be out of the question). This obviously makes dating the PSP version a little tricky, but 2008 would seem logical.

After all, it's not as if the team hasn't had time to work on it. Seen as a title able to help support the concept of PSP given the then-incredible strength of the licence, Gran Turismo Mobile (then Gran Turismo 4 Mobile) was 'announced' around the same time as the handheld, with mock-ups of the game box and UMD featuring alongside the PSP at video game exhibitions prior to the hardware's Japanese launch.

The real driving simulator that's sold 50 million units is back: Sony Computer Entertainment Europe (SCEE) and Polyphony Digital are pleased to announce Gran Turismo(tm)5 Prologue, a prequel title showcasing the forthcoming Gran Turismo(tm)5 for PLAYSTATION(R)3 (PS3(tm)) - available both on Blu-ray disc and as a download from PLAYSTATION(R)Network (PSN) at the end of this year.

Blu-Ray disc? So, it's not free, then? hmm.gif
