Hi,

I'm new to console world and was wondering how much it cost to buy:

1. PS Vita
2. PS Vita memory card
3. PS Vita games (in average pricing)

My budget for the console + 1 game should be not more than RM850... is it possible?

you can always head to lowyat plaza, got some shops selling psv there, though i recommend that you scout/ask as many offers as you can. dont just go to one place in lowyat and then buy, you'll regret that... there might be one or two store with better offer...

you can also go to sony store anywhere in KL/PJ... but the price is different... psv console only costs around RM 8++... not cheap, but dependable warranty:)

you can also check out Heavy Arm :
-retail shop located at SS15, Subang Jaya, Selangor. Items can be self collected from shop within operating hours.

this is their website: http://www.heavy-arm.com/cms.php?id_cms=1

this is all the info i have:)

Hey,

Thanks for the info and help. Need to scout for one (not for me) and hence, need to find a reliable store.

The shops around pj area like 1U, paradigm, Digital mall... the price for console range like 699 to 799... some got offer to come with one free game but none of them come with the memory card...

also, if use 4GB memory card and say i only play like 3-4 games, is it more than enough?

One more question, for standard PS Vita with Wifi (basic model), can it play R1 and R3 region?

What's the difference between R1 and R3 games?

yeah, usually physical shops sell a bit more expensive than online sellers...
and not many sellers are willing to throw in a memory card in their bundle/offer... i guess thats how they generate extra income, since the vita memory card is necessary to make your vita work. make sure you have enough cash to buy a memory card when you pick out your vita.

1) if you're planning to buy physical game card, 4GB is good enough, but if you're planning to buy and download games online from psn, forget about 4GB, go for 16GB... or 32 GB, more worth the money and space.
DLC for the games doesnt eat much space... and updates are usually not too big... but i would recommend getting an 8GB card, just to be safe when you expand your game collection and for apps. there are some fun free to play games that you can download in psn. US (R1) psn got a few like Treasures of Montezuma, Jetpack joyride, ecolibrium, wake up club, toro friend network, frobisher says. MY (R3) psn only offer toro network and wake up club if im not mistaken...

2) yesssss Wifi psvita is region free rclxms.gif You can play R1 or R3 or R2 games on it. cheers to that rclxms.gif biggrin.gif

3) hmmm... i dont know the exact difference.... but if you browse through online stores in LYN forum here, you might notice that some R3 games have language options such as, Chinese/English Voice or Chinese/English subtitle... other than that... i dont think there is any diffference...
but please take note that if you buy R1 games, you need to download DLC from US (R1) psn using US (R1) psn account.
same goes to R3 games. DLC for games only work on their respective psn accounts.

make up your mind which psn account you want for your psv first. you can change regions, but remember, one memory card only support one account only.

Well it's been the bane of PS3 owners for much longer while we're at it.
Just get another memory card and it's smooth sailing... Sorta... >.<

No.. on PS3 some games can share DLC on R1 n R3.. Capcom, EA, etc.. while some are locked...
the difference is on PS3 you can create multiple users n Region Account. Just create 3 users with R1,R2,R3 account and ur good to go.

while PSvita u have to swap memory which is quite troublesome.. otherwise you are restricted to one region account and games hv to be same region as well to enjoy online features.

If you're willing to get 2nd hand consoles, they can go for around ~RM500 and you can spend more on memory cards/games instead.

actually both have pro and cons .... to me im an owner of the first version and i already compare with the 2000 series and regarding the battery life,it doesnt make much different ...better you go for first one while stock last
