Regarding whether backlit or no backlit the same, no, it isn't. They just updated their backlit line of kbs to v2 recently, with some misc improvement.

Dam, and I just purchased something cost over 500rmb at the taobao rate of 1.74...

I see... Can you bump me if you found out the result, in case you're lurking to China? So the misc improvement is better than the non backlit or not? Because from my calculation, only need to add about RM50 from non-backlit to backlit so why not if the same quality. But if this involve the risk, I guess just get the white or grey non-LED.

Price different cause one is red switch while another is black. For some reasons, black switches board in taobao always cheapest, normally will be 50rmb cheapest over other.

So the higher price is the red switch? Damn... I thought blue is gaming switch. It seems like everywhere red switch cost more... I plan to get a unit and spray the casing. No more used CM QFR red switch for sale at GS. Last time I can found 2-3 QFR red switch for let go.

after a few searches (which is quite hard as china forums are currently flooded with the hype of ikbc free keycaps threads...), I only found a keycool 87 backlit (last gen), and it come with cherry modifiers.

I guess that the new board should also be using cherry modifiers, cause almost all keyboard with backlit out there come with cherry modifiers.

I will say, go for the normal non backlit one, as you also get pbt/POM keycaps instead of the normal PC/abs backlit keycaps which sucks big time when it aged.

You had tried both cherry modifiers and costar one, and you said you prefer costar one, hence the non backlit one is your better choice.
