Yes, iPad2 will support iOS7.

http://www.apple.com/ios/ios7/features/ (scroll to the bottom of the page)

And iOS7 beta6 is indeed available for iPad2.

Of course they will let you be supported. But don't update first.
Wait for others who can't wait and do it.
We not sure iPad 2 can support or not since it's so old now. Hmmmm
Can support doesn't mean it won't lag and so-on.

I heard that upgrading to iOS7 using iTune will download entire OS but OTA upgrade only download necessary things.

Which one is better? What is the different?

My iPad 2 Updated yesterday. Slight lag but barely noticeable. But I didn't use my ipad for gaming so can't comment on game lag or not.

The file size for upgrading is so huge, it took me one day to download, but I like the design and it is worth to wait ;-)

Tablet wise, the performance is always topped my Nexus 10 in ios6. Although I'm not a big fan of ios, but it is user friendly especially to my parents.

Now, everything is ruined with ios7. Lagging here and there, new buttons on email and gallery which confused my mom, weird parallax which is still OK because able to be turned off.

Aiyoooooo. Quickly fix it leeehh.

My iPad battery lasts about 15 hours on a single charge when running iOS 7.

Quite Impressive, but I only use my iPad for web browsing.

On iOS 6, it was only around 10-12 hours.

Ipad 2 user on ios7, the 5 fingers animation to close an app is slightly sluggish, it bothered me at first, bcuz in comparison, ios6 closes app quicker than my eyes blink.

Now that im used to it, ios 7's control centre toggles is a godsent with unjailbroken devices

Quickoffice seems to be not working on ios7, anyone else? Or any free and good office app to try out as alternative?

Agree with you mate. Try to turn on the REDUCE MOTION in setting>general>accessibility, the outcome will be a little better smile.gif

Are you comparing the lag to the smoothness in iOS6 ?
so far I've not heard any of my friends complaining about lagging in iOS7, just how similar is the features when compared to android.

My iPad 2 still iOS6 and probably will stay with it for as long the apps still supported on that version. Lagging issue is pretty much common even on my new retina iPad mini. But of course if u dont mind the lagging issue then go ahead, upgrade it. cool2.gif

iOS 7 is working great on my iPad 3!But the only problem I have is my battery life.In iOS 6 it used to last for 3days but now in iOS 7 my battery lasts for a day only..I play games for 1-3 hours aday.

Also, try connecting your iPad to iTunes and then update to iOS 7.0.4.Apple dint sign 5.1.1 anymore so if you connect to iTunes it will force you to update your ipad.iOS 7 is stable for now.Mybe I play games too much that's why my battery don't last so long.

Let me know the results !

It is more battery consuming, you're not the only one.

What you can do is disable background data, increase contrast and reduce motion to reduce GPU usage.

you can disable some of the transparency and "nice" features in IOS7 which will make ipad2 faster. A lot of ppl says it becomes usable once those features are disabled. Google for this..lots of sites teach you how to do it. I will upgrade my ipad2 once jailbreak in ios7 is stable.

Personally, i would love to stick to iOS 6 as long as it take. The battery is still far more superior on it and i don't want to lose it after upgrading it to iOS 7. Not much a fan of iOS 7 on non-retina iPad though.
