Original Intel Heatsink is those that is somekind quiet...
They don't suppose to be noisy...
I've seen a lot of Socket 478 Intel Heatsink...
Sometimes the shop change the original heatsink with the "local" one...
The original intel heatsink should be quiet...
Even if it produce some sound, the original one won't be noisy...
I suspected this also. Likewise I build my own PC and my stock Intel Heatsink base is made of copper(straight out of the Ori packing) ..whereas my friend's PC which she bought and build from a shop the Heatsink base is not copper and the stock fan spin nearly 4000rpm which makes alot of noise.But when u touch the heatsink, it is not that really hot and what i am suspecting is the processor could not transfer heat effiecient enough to the heatsink thus making the fan spin at full blast.Then u must be getting the tipui heatsink...

I wonder if your's stock HSF is a copper base or full aluminium? You don't have to remove the heatsink to see, just remove the fan will do.
