as for pedometer i'm not sure, but it do comes with free Runtastic Pro app (im not sure if its related).

Anyone here planning on getting the Gear S? Looks gooding the watch, but not sure bout the batt life ... can tahan more than a day?

I think more than a day will be tough. Because it uses its own 3g as well, and it will consume more batt as compared to the usual BT connection. Definitely have to charge everyday imo.

P/s: Gear S is technically not Android Smartwatch since its a standalone (don't require connection to Android phone) and it runs on Tizen. I guess that's why we don't really discuss the Gear S on this thread.

After an almost a week with my GWR, I can safely said it met my current expectation of smartwatch and more. Some might lament lack of speakerphone and ability to talk through watch ala d*** Tracy on the current crop of Android Wear watch, but after my experience with Gear 1, that feature is still far away from being usable for now, with tiny speaker and small battery capacity.

Voice detection for "OK Google" functionality on GWR is better than moto360, and the unassuming design actually helps to avoid it from the prying eyes, unlike moto360.  Battery life has been great so far, and I'm looking forward for the next update from Google to enable watchface API (so the third party watchfaces can deliver better battery life and smaller notification display on it).

Yeah I saw that post too. Surprisingly Malaysia receive the Gear S very early, much earlier even than the US.

In the end, bought an used Samsung phone to configure. Once done, I will use the phone as backup. Now looking for a cheap data plan SIM for it.

I don't do any web browsing with it. Just need it to check for notifications on its own without tether to the phone. Umobile quite attractive. Basic 3G with 500MB quota will do. If need to make calls also for absolute emergencies only.

Gear Fit for RM260, should I go for it?

was too excited too see it online.
bought it assuming it works with non galaxy phone like gear fit.
turned it on.
paired it with G flex/z ultra ...boom...thats it.
unable to further sync anything.
in short. it won't work with non galaxy phone.
hurray..I'm forced to get a Samsung phone just for this..damn..

but this smartwatch phone is gorgeous compared to sw2, g watch , gear fit.

I say if you really want a fitness android wear watch the sony one is the first of its kind to hv GPS built into the watch so you dont need to bring your phone along with you for a run.... But then again it doesnt hv a heart rate sensor which is just lame ....  In the end this watch is just confused... it wants to be a watch but cant accept standard watch straps ,  it wants to be fitness device but it lacks the hardware other watches have , and that design..... ugh maybe they should just stop making totally square smart watches anymore , looks so outdated

SW3 dun have heart rate sensor? too bad...got GPS but no heart rate, totally wasted.

Samsung Gear S - simply awesome!

Ya using it now. I like it. It is not really crazy big. I find it nice in my hand. My sister also said it is nice but she do said for girl maybe is a bit big. For guy it look nice.
