I got some problem with my broker, i "lost" 200 pips because of the broker. So, i was long GBPAUD just now at the candle stick labeled with 3 red arrow, my broker give me a price that is 100 pips higher than the price when i place the order. Basically, i start the trade with -100 pips.

user posted image

I was place my order when the price is 1.70127 (Line 1) but the broker put the green line on 1.70223 (Line 2) which is at least 100 pips higher than Line 1. The candle stick had not reach Line 2 that time and is far from that line.

When the price go up around 200 pips until 1.70317 (Line 3), that time my profit was around 100 pips so i want to close my order but the broker did not allow me to do so, i keep on trying to close but without success.

Having failed to close the order, i was trying to move the SL up to Line 2 (price that given by broker) hope that i can minimized the loss, i failed too, broker did not allow me to move the SL. This time the profit is drop to 70 pips.

Then i keep closing the order, failed too. Until the profit drop to -15 pips, this time finally i was allow to close my order.

Instead of earn 200 pips now i become lost 15 pips. Have anyone of you experienced this problem?

Hey guys, i am short GBPUSD just now with a pending order at 1.61057 (sell stop). SL at 1.61157 (100 pips) and TP at 1.61007 (50 pips), when the price fall very fast it trigger my pending order then very fast the order closed by itself, but when i check back i was actually lost 100pips for this trade, anybody know what happened? I think i should earn 50 pips, why it did not happened?

The big fall of price happened just now from 1.61201 down to around 1.60827 (around 370 pips).

You actually mean 10 pips(100 piplet), 5 pips(50 piplet) etc right?

Just now high volatility, maybe the price move up and down too fast and trigger your SL first.

Ya, ya, you are correct.
I got one question guys, some time i saw that the price have not reach the SL yet it is already trigger it, is it triggering SL also included the spread?
Let say the spread for that pair is 9 pips, will it be triggering my SL 9 pips earlier?

a stop loss that follows the price according your set distance. it is created to secure your profit incase the price move against you while you are in the positive. basically its a moving stoploss.

I see, so if the price falling back from the highest profit, will the stop loss falling back also?

So normally how you guys take profit? Using trailing stop to let the profit run or you guys preferred close the order once profit reach your target value?

Both ways dude.
We're not god, we can't predict future price.
Sometimes we look at the market and challenge for more pips, Trailing Stop works fine here. (Still secure positive pips here, rather than negative pips)
Sometimes is just take and run mode.

Which ever it is, the final result is positive pips then is good enough.

sometime i closed the order the price keep on going, i was like "why i close so early".
but sometime i did not close the order hope the price will keep going, the price go the other way and i lost the little profit, i was like "why i dont close it early". biggrin.gif

By the way, what indicators/tools you guys preferred when predicting the trend?

Real broker who send order to REAL MARKET.

Thanks for the useful information.
One part of the article is comparing the DMA broker with ECN broker, but i cant understand it well.
I saw the word ECN broker quite often, so actually ECN better or DMA better?

Not sure. You can ask the broker before you apply with them. Live chat is always there.

I know we don't choose US broker because FIFO rules.
*
Thanks for pointing out that.

How about Australia brokers? Got any rules?

Major pair good.
Other pair not so good.

Not true DMA.

I feel quite good with IC Market based on my experience with their demo account. Major pairs are good and Non major pairs like EURAUD, EURCAD, EURGBP, EURJPY ...... also quite ok. Average spread is about 1 pip and lower. They arrange their pair's sequence in market watch windows very neatly, look like quite impress.
