couldn't care much if logo is off or on if i were you due to the fact tht the sheet ady messed up...coz from far know is sony ady and i never yet seen a sony phone clone set XD...sacrificing the logo is the better option than staring with screen that have battle scars ^^" just my 2 cents

To be sure you get the perfect unit, you need to test few things:
1. Existence of the fake hang/screen of death (SOD) issue on the latest firmware. This is due to some have this but some did not.
2. The volume really a bit low but acceptable with right ringtone and audio settings. I use bluetooth speaker when I really need loud music.
3. A screen protector (back and front) will be a must buy for you because unfortunately, the shatter proof film is not scratch proof. The screen however, after much research, is scratch resistant. Gorilla Glass 3 > XZU scratch resist glass > Gorilla Glass 2. That gives you the right idea, I hope.
4. Other minor bugs I think prolly will be fixed in the next firmware update. Sony have been very aggressive on releasing updates for the device.
5. There's also the 32GB class 4 microSD curse on some unit, not sure if it's the card's fault or the device fault as 32GB cards are known for its various probs.
6. If you like the water & dust poof phone with huge display and the fastest chip available, you won't regret this.

ahh...actually a lot customization can be done to the UI once u rooted. my fav is changing the boot animations and the fonts.

u pretty much can do all these with ROM Toolbox Pro. gotta purchase the app though...or *ehem* XD it's one of the best paid app i've spent on. lol.

idk bout ur pc but mine is plug n play after letting it install necessary drivers itself

additional info would be that your phone have to be unlocked too ^^

if u have any kind of pin/passcodes/pattern locks, u need to unlock ur phone first. n maybe having PCC installed will help.

mind sharing your pc OS?

try put on a faster USB slot? if u using desktop PC, best is u plug at back of the desktop pc directly to the mainboard's USB port.

So yea, why not I share customization tips.
even since RAZR, I've been customizing my UI with a lot of stuffs.
But with Z Ultra, I did extra stuffs just to keep me happy.

1. Nova Launcher Prime
- yes the stock homescreen is good but it doesn't do gestures. I use Nova for its stability, customizability, and usability. Never again my finger had to crawl way above the screen to pull the notification bar or to aim the app tray icon to list all my apps.
RAM used: ~55MB

2. ROM Toolbox Pro
- It's not just to manage the custom recoveries or playing with kernel. For basic, I use it for changing my font and boot animations on-the-go. it's also the swiss-army-knife for rooted phone.
RAM used: none for font/boot animation tweaking.

3. roundR
- I don't really mind having rounded corner screen on my true black screen panel of XZU. the effect came out nice.
RAM used: ~16MB

4. GMD Auto Hide Soft Keys
- 6.44" is large but it's not 100% usable due to XZU having the soft navigation menu. Use this and tada, gone!
RAM used: N.A

5. Button Savior Pro
- Now that you removed the soft navigation, u can use either GMD Hide Soft Key's very own soft navigation or u can use this Button Savior. Button Savior Pro have much customization and better trigger positioning.
RAM used: N.A

6. Gravity Screen Pro
- thanks to uncle @benny888, this app is really good for me although I use it juz so my screen turned itself off inside my pocket. may seem like simple stuff but when u get used to it, it's really making ur phone somewhat smarter with its surrounding.
RAM used: ~2.7MB

7. SlideIT Keyboard
- Resize, cursor navigation, skinning, all I ever need for a keyboard. very good language, swiping and dictionary support too.
RAM used: ~17MB

8. Slider Widget - Volumes
- My homescreen quick volume access widget. Also adjusts my brightness settings.
RAM used: N.A

9. SoundAbout Pro
- As an avid mobile multimedia user, I always carry around a portable bluetooth speaker with me. However, not ALL sounds go to that speaker (such as alarm tones). With XZU's internal speaker, I will never wake up so this app helps to divert ALL sounds to my bluetooth speaker whenever connected.
RAM used: ~2.7MB

I'm never be able to set my preference this way. as app developer I find it is not the best practice to stick with just a brand and keep returning to it. Samsung has very good lineups but it's very hassle to set up a Samsung phone to the development environment (with exception of its Nexus phone). S3 was my last Samsung phone and maybe after a couple of Sony, I'll get back to Samsung or try out LG.

gotta agree with that bit of your thoughts. this is not like last time where only a couple of brand is having high-end specs. Now more flexible with many brands coming out with super speed technology growth. yet some peeps grown up sticking with the idea that a brand is superior than the other quite annoys me too. Especially on a wrong thread.
