You need at least one of those monitoring software installed.

Hmmm.. As far as I know, you must have the software(listed in the drop down menu) installed. Choose the software, and run OCCT. It will automatically run the monitoring software chosen by user. smile.gif

EDIT: Oh ya, one reminder here, DO NOT turn off the monitoring software while priming. Else, it will pop up message and end the test. laugh.gif

I'd say that Prime 95 is the best.....,besides that...,i also leave my rig on for days sometimes if i'm torrenting so that's quite the stress test as well.....

The weird part is, all of these stress test passed for 2 hours with priority 10. But somehow when I do folding + load msn, it crashed(right the minute msn signed it). blink.gif I have no idea why. rclxub.gif

So... How am I suppose to test my oc stability? A bit frust. sad.gif

Priority 10 wor.. Furthermore after that test I run another test with priority 8 and 7(dual prime) + multitasking. tongue.gif At that time, also nothing happened.
Before this, I run with priority 1 up to 12 hours almost everyday with different settings, no crash, nothing, so now try with priority 10 lo. You try it also lo. blush.gif hands.gif
Usually priority 10 will fail me within an hour if my settings not stable.

EDIT: btw, priority 6/7/8 also tried before.. Nothing happened..

that is overclock all about. some ppl able to passed all those primming thinggy but in daily simple task operation, sometimes having difficulty.

since primming only stress the processor, why doncha run some graphic benchmark coz u also overclock ur graphic card? smile.gif

Ran it before. Same crazy results turned out. Passed 3DMark05 and 06, failed 03. laugh.gif
All these results gave me one conclusion, confused. shakehead.gif

I thought priming stress the CPU even more with calculations, no? unsure.gif

Yes thats the best way to show real stability. I do that too as the PC was prime stable for 7 hours and atitool artifact free for 2 hours, started F.E.A.R for 5 mins also hang and artifacts here and there. Now tuned to fit games.

I know that running dual 32M priming for my system is not a problem and it would pass. And that only stresses the cpu, mobo and perhaps some RAM. I also overclock my VGA, so this is what I did. Open up World of Warcraft or Need For Speed Carbon and play at your normal VGA settings. Run 1 set of 32M Prime at the background.

When I did that, after some time like 30 mins, the game just dropped me back out to the desktop. So, I just set it down to 3.6GHz and it works or raise the vcore of the CPU slightly more for it to be totally stable.

Have two folders of Prime95. Run both. Then set affinity of each process to each processor you have.
