i often use SuperPI 1M to indicate stable or not...
SuperPI 32M after primed for 2 hrs...
again, priming all over nite (at least 6 hrs) to confirm its stable...

for gfx stress, real time hdr n 3dmark series would help... notworthy.gif

Quick test (able to load Windows properly and capable of running light applications) : SuperPi 1M

Rough test (able to load Windows, capable of running common applications and common benchmarks) : SuperPi 32M or OCCT

Complete stability test (able to run everything and stable even under stressful condition such as encoding, gaming, etc) : Prime blend for more than 12hrs

My old sempron rig...even pass Prime95 for 24hours...but it fail 3dmark2003 CPU test always. After adjust vAgp to 1.55v it pass.
To test Graphic Stability - 3dmark looping test
To test processor and ram - Stress2004

That the thing i always do to test stability. For me, SuperPI 32M doesnt mean 99% stable yet..it still can BSOD when heavily rendering some files.

hm... to REALLY reveal oc instability i set priority of prime95 to 10... i remember once at priority of 9 prime95 could run for long hours.... at priority 10 it failed within an hour...

mmm....don't mind if i ask, what does that priority do ? I mean, changing that will force windows to concentrate on that task instead of others apps' tasks ???

Haha , i stress my computer diffrent way . i don't use all the funny benchmark program but i use my application to test the stability .

1) i open online massive rpg games up to 80 explorer at once and attack 80 players at once ... stress my internet and multitasking ... haha .

2) i burn 2 dvd disc at once with two DVD burner ... Haha ... see how your data transfer speed will go ...

3) I play Ultra high quality Quake 4 with ati x1300 graphic card ... haha , stress my graphic card to the max !!!!

4) I play ultra big custom map for game like "alexender" and "SiM City 4" and run up to maximum population support before your computer hang ...

5) Try to convert movie , play agme , burn disc , listen music ... all at the same time ..... see how your comp hang ...

6) Put the maximum bots a biggest counter strike source map can offer and see how your bots walking ... Haha ...

Anyway , benchmarking with special programes is just for comparison , why not try to stress the comp with your daily application and see what are those performance all about . Who care the marks while i can play game smoothly without problem ... haha whistling.gif

My last semester project was horrible....

I stressed my CPU did rendering about more than 24 hours everyday...and I didn't shut it down more than a week...

did all these in the same time...rendering 3D MAX, colouring in photoshop and illustrator, drawing in autocad and sketcup...and also high resolution printing with my A3 printer...
