well stratos,

there are some certain rules to follow when designing a t-shirt.

One that you have seriously crossed is using gradient. Your T-shirt might appear nice in that colour but if you were to print it the cost would be extremely high (that and that you have so many colours on 1 shirt).

Its not realistic, hence you dont see many gradient graphic shirts.

T-shirt graphics are usually flat and if are not, they should be too complicated.

Overall you really need to step back and have a look at your design, from the following i can see:

a) it has 2 many colours
b) much to complicated with 2 much designs.
c) it looks more like a graphic print design than a t-shirt design
d) I dont see it as a shirt that people would wear.

Try to keep your t-shirt design simple 1st and to usually not more than 3 colours.

What looks nice as a print might not look nice on a tee.

Well..the shirt look good but if u wanna print this design on shirt, It will cost u a lot coz the shirt need to be print using printer, not block.
What I can see here is that the colour that u use is more than 10.

Usually, t-shirt design will consist not more than 4 colour unless u wanna shirt like "Radioactive" type of shirt.

I also see that ur design have gradient. My advise is, try to eliminate those element.I might look nice, but I doubt it on shirt.

Actually i dont think he should go to threadless, no offence meant to anyone, but alot of people who go to these sites to get 'inspired' end up referencing too much if u know what i mean. Let your designs and ideas be your own.

So far your designs are ok startros. Just cut down on your designs, as said earlier, far 2 complicated. You need to learn about design space and also look in magazines. Fuse your style with what is sellable, I'm not saying follow trends now, create your own trend but dont copy.

Cheers and enjoy!

hmmm.... I have to ask a question here...

SMK Chung Hua Miri
LYN Club - Forum.Lowyat.net
Manga Characters

which one is the focus? tongue.gif

ps~
seriously, I can't see the relation between them...
plus, focus is quite important in all kinds of designs...
unless this is a piece of ART but not a design... wink.gif

Hmm... why not just fonts in the front... and a big printing of the characters at the back with similar fonts underlining it? Maybe u can play around with the positioning of the fonts in front...

Just an opinion though, try to keep it your own style, else what's the point designing it yourself? Set an idea or concept of how you'd like the design to look like, and implement it according to practicality... wink.gif
