#11 are too special for me. only Giggs using it since PL introduce 'registered players numbers' beginning 93/94 (i think). before that, players can swap shirt numbers on matchday between them as they like.
#7 not too special now since the likes of Owen wore it..
By the end of this season, we will have three vacant 'first team' numbers. Number 7 Number 9 Number 11 You better do you job Woodward. Inb4 its only a number.
Woodward : Oi! Macai tunggu Nike gimme 2bn first lah!

Andy Cole 9 Saha 9 Berbatov 9
Beckham 7 Ronaldo 7 Owen 7 Valencia 7
But 11 still playing while above players are retired, playing with other team or already swap number
Agree. Berbatov is the more talented individual, but when Saha played, United played better as a team. IIRC, RvN was dropped because United was more threatening as a team even though RvN, is, RvN Rooney Saha Ronaldo was part of a much more fluid system than if RvN is there. Just Saha was more than not, hampered by injuries.

Berba is more talented but ineffective as a lone striker. Saha although glassman is a dangerman on the pitch.....fast, tricky and good finisher. RVN is effective as lone striker as long as he gets service, same like RVP he needs service in the 6yard box for his magic, he won't be dribbling it in like Rooney/Saha.

btw nice scorpion pic, new movie?
Not exactly movie, it is from trailer of Mortal Kombat: Legacy Season 2. You should watch the season 1 on youtube. Put the past movies to shame.
*cough* Back to topic, yes Saha is a good attacker and plays well in the "strikerless" formation.

I would politely disagree. In fact I would say that RvN is better with his feet than Saha. Saha's is faster though but RvN's good at short sprints. The Youtube video linked proves my point.

Saha was great at headers. He's probably 1 of the best I've watched. He's body control and timing of his jump is really good.
There is no doubt in terms of talent RVN is much better but he is at his most lethal when the team is focused around him to provide ammunition. Except for once or twice with us and during his early years he isn't one to dribble the ball from midfield and score, he is always standing near the box waiting for long balls and crosses. He also likes to stand near the box with a defender to his back, receives the ball then blast past the defender to score.
I've video evidence that Bebe is the most lethal striker on earth as well.

Not Bebe again
RVN is that player that goes: Oi! Give me the ball, I'll finish it for you! As prolific as he may be, his work rate is pretty low. Nevertheless good fox-in-the-box.

Tumpang lalu
Either way, RvN is one of the best striker United ever had. Have to praise SAF for his patience even though RvN got that serious injury which could threaten his career.

No doubt the first part, that's why SAF sold him so that CR7 could grow. My point is that while he is a great finisher, Saha isn't better at "dribbling the ball from midfield and scoring" compared to him. They are both really good up front but suggesting that Saha is better at that than RvN is just silly. They both have very similar styles are thus better at playing in the most forward position. Besides, as a striker; we don't need them to run from midfield and score. Perhaps you have forgotten but RvN has scored many goals where he's taken the ball from outside the penalty box and used his feet and strength to get into the box and score. Watch the Youtube video to refresh your memory. Your description of RvN seems so much like Saha. Further proof that they are both so similar type of players.
I'm not suggesting Youtube is the best source, but I thought you needed a reminder of how good RvN is as an overall striker and not purely as a finisher.

The problem is our way of football kept changing... so very hard to say.. but if compare danger level
RVN>Saha>Berbatov
Do you guys remember the fluid one touch tiki taka that we played? totally destroyed arsenal... but result in 6-1 defeat.. after that our style become question mark...
I don't even know what style are we playing right now... very centered around RVP.. which sometimes I think we relied too much on him...
Moyes style very discipline.. that might limit our team's creativity..

really wanna see kagawa shine..
Moyes' tactic is actually very simple. It's similar to what SAF used last time. He likes to use wingers. He had a winger to cut in which opens up the space for the full backs to cross the ball. He did that with Pienaar and Baines on the left.

Yeah. Example, the Swansea game, Giggs and Welbeck interchange on the left. I would think if both Kagawa and Rooney are both fit, they would occupy the same positions. Ability to interchange too, and perhaps better. Just that it didnt happen much during Liverpool game, and when the wingers are being marked, the central mid is almost non-existent.

Agreed. Full-backs bombarding forward requires alot of energy, hence it is quite understandable why Moyes wanted a new LB before the window shut. Just a precaution if one gets fatigued throughout the season.
