I agree that Longines Hydroconquest range offers some of the best value for money pieces.

Love this piece.

^Who's the maker planned for this? Sandwich dial looks good but lack of a seconds hand bothers me a bit.
*
Project Manager is "Hobbit" from MWF.
Maker is Gruppo Gamma from Singapore.
As for the lack of seconds hands, I think for this project watch, we are trying to keep things as simple as possible to keep the price as low as possible.
The 1st MWF Project Bronze watch by VDB is quite pricey and inaccessible to most members.

MWF Project Watch look so Panerai.
*
It does.
It's a homage to the Panarai 1940 case but instead of the 47mm or 42mm Panerai that sports the 1940 case, we went with a more "wearable" 44mm.

With the restrictions of cost (which is what most are worried about), it does not give us the bargaining power to create a one off unique piece/pieces as the tooling will blow the budget skyhigh.

How does that work? I want to participate. I heard Rolex's profit are somewhat funneled to charity and Rolex in itself is privately owned by an organisation, or something like that.
*
In simple terms, Rolex is not publicly listed.
So no shareholders.
It is entirely owned by the Hans Wilsdorf Trust.
So, whatever profits will go to the charity of choice of the trust fund.
I think it involves watchmaking schools (where frank muller graduated)
And also some humanitarian charities.
That is why Rolex is cold to the media.
They answer to nobody.
All their profits is not making some fat capitalist filthy rich but is funneled to charities.
But with all things Rolex, information is sketchy at best.

anyone here willing to buy fake watch or just save the money and buy the original 1? if that watch very expensive and out of ur budget. or not buy at all rather than buy the fake ones ?

sometimes, im wondering why people buy fake but say its original. buy looking at it we know already its fake. but he keeps saying it original. keep denied it. and berlagak with his "expensive watch"
*
It's better to buy the original one you can afford (be it Seiko, Tag or whatever) rather than a fake one that you buy because you can't afford the original (high end ones)
That's why I advice girls to go for bags that they can afford, could be a Charles and Keith, Guess, Sembonia or Braun Buffel bag, at least it's original.
Better than carrying a fake LV, Gucci or Prada.

This is perfectly permissible from Rolex policy because you're requesting for part change within the same model. Let me give you an example. In the previous model before the current ceramic bezel insert/inlay, the GMT II stainless steel model (1675, 16700, 16750, 16710) comes in 3 aluminium colored inserts, blue-red aka Pepsi, red-black aka Coke and regular black. You can go to  RSC and purchase additional inserts to the one you currently have, though at RSC Malaysia specifically I'm not sure if they will retain the one you are swapping out. In other parts of the world, based on my experience they let you keep it  thumbup.gif

As for current ceramic model (116710) the same policy should also apply because Rolex does offer the watch in two insert colors, black and blue-black. The black insert is still being offered and no official announcement about it being discontinued.

So, my points then are it is legit, parts can be sourced via official RSC or other watchmakers, and also most importantly cost saving rather than buying a new one at above retail price  when it's just insert and GMT hand color changes.  icon_rolleyes.gif

As far as I know, Rolex parts are on a 1 to 1 basis, meaning if you want a BLNR bezel, you have to have an old damaged bezel to change to a new one.
Price is 3-4k per bezel insert.
As for the Blue 24 hour GMT hands, the same applies.
But on the black GMT, it would look weird after swapping out the parts as the dial text "GMT Master II" is in green while on the BLNR model, it is white.
Parts can be sourced via some back door dealer if so required.

But as for me personally, I wouldn't do it...

Wow... Thanks for the hands on picture! Stunning watch there, I love the fact that it has the blue glow in the dark  smile.gif What does BLNR stands for?
Yup, because I see the second hand ones are going for like only 17k
*
I doubt there are 2nd hand GMTIIc at 17k... but I could be wrong... If there are, better do the due dilligence before committing.
Retail price for the GMTIIc is RM26,200 when I last checked.
Preowned prices are still 22k in tip top condition.
20k is the cheapest I have seen.

BLNR stands for Bleu Noire (Blue Black)

The previous GMTIIc is carrying ref 116710LN (LN = Lunette Noire = Black Moon... i think)
The Green Submariner Hulk is 116610LV (LV = Lunette Verte = Green Moon)
While the Green Milgauss is 116400GV (GV = Glace Verte = Green Glass)

I remembered there are watches made specifically for doctors.
With the outer rim printed with a tachymetre like scale but for measuring pulse.
Need to dig up more info...

Problem with Omega is that the discounts offered is very low.
Very very controlled.
Since most are used to at least 20% discount.... getting 10% or single digit discounts sometimes feel quite sien la... hehehe
I have a soft spot for Omega watches... still hoping to own a moonwatch one day...
