But the website photo show it got paywave.... May be it the old 2005 design. I got it when it launched at 2005, after 1 year cancel it. That time do not have UOB ONE card yet.

Agree with you, call and beg is something I hate to do. Since I use the card for number of transaction, do expect they auto wave AF, instead of need to "threaten" for cancel..
*
you only need to ask, no need to beg. If they don't give just cancel. Come back again 6 months later

If the bank has already charge the AF & GST into my statement, my chance s to waive is very slim right?  say i don't even meet the 12 times swipe & 36k .
*
can try, if they don't give then just cancel. As simple as that

Not worth to use Credit card Overseas. They charge 1% admin fee and give me a very ridiculous rate to me. f*** this shit.
*
UOB cards exchange rate is much higher than other banks. not worth using overseas unless there is merchant discount or you want to enter contests

i also asked to cancel GST but my smart cash has not enough RM50, so they cannot proceed unless i have > RM50 smart cash.

haiz...  sad.gif
*
cancel the card then. What is so difficult since it is so expensive to maintain. There are other cards in the market which carry no annual fee

yes, i have requested to cancel it, also asking for AF waiver before cancelling the card.
the customer service personnel will request for management approval, i will call back 3-5 biz days later to follow up.
This Link says:
https://ringgitplus.com/en/credit-card/UOB-...ual-fee-details

Annual Fee = RM168
1) Waived when 12 swipes every year
2) Waived when spend 36000 per year
36k per year means 3k/month, which is ridiculous to me, since they have capped for cash rebate.
Rather to use MBB Amex 2 card.
*
yes, the terms to waive the annual fee are really ridiculous, if you have other cards then you may cancel it anytime. Mbb2 Amex should be good enough for you

Ya, I cannot request to cancel at the moment since installment with them, as long as bank has waive the AF is good enough, otherwise, need to take money and pay one lum sum for the installment.

Called to CS, the AF of my card on this year is auto waive, next year will be charge....and I asked, the AF for waiver will be appear on my statement (eg: debit and credit ), she said: no it won't be appear on your statement.

No wonder until now there is no any update about AF on my statement.

And also, request to deduct from my smart cash for GST charge for this year...
*
this is the problem of having those EPP with banks, you have no bargain power to ask them waive GST since your installment plan is still tied with them. Early settlement may cost you RM50 penalty, you may as well pay the GST right?

Citibank has those Samsung phones 36 months installment plan with SenQ some time ago, it sounds good that you can pay off over a 3 year period but bear in mind that there is an extra RM150 to pay for. I think not everyone counts like me but I put it into consideration too

Yup, this is under my consideration as well before go for any installment plan since this AF of this card is higher. Just that this card is provide more CL for me to make for installment, that’s why if bank waive for AF is good enough for me as the GST can be deduct from smart cash, and yes I have no bargain power in the first place.

Basically, there is no any lost to pay for GST, just use the sufficient smart cash to pay off, but not from own money.  smile.gif
*
instead of asking UOB to pay for you or you may actually cancel the card and apply another new card with cash back, you chose to offset with smart cash. The smart cash is equivalent to,RM50 cash as well. That's why I would say not worth it unless you really need this card badly or as per the scenario that, in anyway you still need to pay RM50.

I am most likely not going to get tied down by banks unless it is MBB2 Cards that I feel it is worth for me to pay the RM50 per year since the benefits outweigh the gst

I believe the new GST will be charged on the monthly balance. Most probably la. I just predict only because the new GST is 6%. So it has to be 6% of something. Just a wild guess.
*
when you purchase goods or services, you have already paid gst. How are they going to charge you gst on your outstanding balance?

interest is most likely won't have gst, not sure bout other fees such as late payment fees

That's different. The mechanism of GST applies on Goods and Services. Using the credit card is part of a service provided by the bank. The bank charges service revenue, not goods revenue. Swiping the card number of times is a service.

My only guess is two. One, charge 6% on top of final balance. Or two, charge 6% on top of the number of use, meaning for eg, one swipe is Rm5 or so. Not sure la. Just hope something good instead of the shit RM50

QUOTE(Human Nature @ Jun 24 2014, 06:06 PM)
Lol, that will be crazy la.
*
he is really crazy. then nobody will be using credit cards anymore since the charge is so high. consumers don't pay extra while using credit card to make payment unless in some circumstances where there is extra charge. Basically, the merchant will pay the rental of the credit card terminal and transaction cost per swipe, therefore if there is gst, the gst charge will be paid by the merchant instead of the consumer since there is no service charge by the merchant, they won't be any gst.

there should be a list where gst won't apply. just wait for it

I have a question regarding UOB VOX card. Can anyone here tell me usually by when(date) the rebates earned will becredited into the credit card account?

I spent around $700-800 for the month of July and understand I have earned around ~$30+ rebates. But now is already early of August and I've checked my account online, unfortunately the rebates is still not reflected into my account. Has anyone here facing the same problem?
*
20+ of August most likely.

I have UOB Vox Card
