QUOTE(plumberly @ Oct 8 2013, 03:46 PM) Went for my 2nd attempt to get more units. U r riteWent to CIMB and the gentleman at the teller told me that he could not check whether there was any unit available. He suggested that I fill in the purchase form and only then he could find out whether there was any available. The other day at ASN, the teller checked on his terminal and could tell me yes or no. I guess non ASN banks cannot check for unit availability. Do you encounter similar process at ASN and non ASN banks? Cheerio. ASNB systems can check how many units is available Banks/Pos dun have such features I wud advise u inform d teller how much u want so that he/she can key-in immediately If u check 1st n units is available, teller need to exit from the menu and go into top up menu which take times Remember, timing n luck is d key features |

QUOTE(MGM @ Oct 8 2013, 10:21 PM) I have enough of asnb funds. Bought AS1M when most people avoided it, slowly accumulating it for a few months. Will unload it monthly when I retire but thru the BANKS, just don't want to carry too much money around even in thousands. U must have practice assets allocation in yo portfolio |

QUOTE(davinz18 @ Oct 8 2013, 09:44 PM) AS IF you can get 10k at ASNB office on "try & error" basis (if got connection/ insider, different story). Even rm50 also sometimes hard to get Bro, my friend try top up at ASNB n managed to get RM10k b4You go banks & try. The staff won't even give you the waiting number for ASNB Transaction (some case) or they just pretend "trying" (key-in) for you |

QUOTE(davinz18 @ Oct 8 2013, 10:03 PM) I know the risk involved, in fact everyone knows that here. don't you read the previous posting & their experience dealing with the banks "good" services. AgreedTomorrow you go try at the bank. You can feel the "service" given by them okay (I know you on FD rite now) If v want to try top up at Banks, v need to build d rapport with counter staff from zero Once counter staff is familiar with u, they will assist u |

Noted PNB consistently paying Bonus to ASB holders since year 1990
Is there any obligation for PNB to do so? |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Oct 11 2013, 07:51 AM) Interesting exchanges on the dividend/bonus/retained earning. From the past, they will pay dividend from the current year earningsI have been wondering what are their payout ratios (dividend/earning). On the high end? Saw a few threads saying the dividends could be higher but they reserved some $ for the just-in-case future bad years. Is that true? Can tell from the payout ratio or retained earning. Cheerio They will c/f a small % of current year earnings to retained earnings The retained earnings will act as buffer in case of rainy days ahead |

QUOTE(plumberly @ Oct 11 2013, 11:10 AM) In absolute term, the amounts are the same in the 2 cases. But I prefer to get the $$ earlier on compound interest perspective. We don't get compounded interest on retained earning in EPF, right? Cheerio. ASNB want to present consistent annual return to holders instead of 'Yo-Yo' trend M not sure whether EPF have any retained earnings |
