This is my calculation, you can use Excel to play with numbers and you can use below calculator to compute any loan and investment
http://www.mycalculators.comI use 4 scenario and using 100k loan with MRTA as the benchmark:
1. The current scenario, BLR at 4.95 and 7.7% dividend. The margin is 2.75
I pay 550, 1 year 6600
I get 7700, means I earn 1100. Yield: 1100/6600= 16.67% < This is ROI
If you save directly:
You will get 6829.81. The difference is 870.19
Hyperbola: You get 378.66% return than normal saving
2. If BNM increase BLR by 0.5 but ASNB give same dividend, BLR at 5.45 and 7.7% dividend. The margin is 2.25
I pay 581, 1 year 6972
I get 7700, means I earn 728. Yield: 728/6972= 10.44% < This is ROI
If you save directly:
You will get 7214.76. The difference is 485.24
Hyperbola: You get 199.88% return than normal saving
3. BNM tak buat gila, ASNB pulak buat hal, BLR at 4.95 and 7.2% dividend. The margin is 2.25
I pay 550, 1 year 6600
I get 7200, means I earn 600. Yield: 600/6600= 9.09% < This is ROI
If you save directly:
You will get 6815.07. The difference is 384.93
Hyperbola: You get 178.98% return than normal saving
4. Suey investment, BLR at 5.45 and 7.2% dividend. The margin is 1.75
I pay 581, 1 year 6972
I get 7200, means I earn 228. Yield: 228/6600= 3.27% < This is ROI
If you save directly:
You will get 7199.19. The difference is 81 sen
Hyperbola: You get 0.36% return than normal saving
P/S: Am I promoting the loan? Heck no, Im promoting the mycalculators as it is easy and fun to play with

Caution: Dont borrow above your means. Getting huge loan does mean you get more advantage, but also more burden.
Prove my numbers are wrong, dont speculate
