my eligibility only allows me to reinvest a paltry rm 8k  sad.gif

for all the trouble, it's not worth the extra 1% per annum in dividend that i get vs EPF's return  wink.gif

Yes the case is different for everyone. I am just putting this on table so people are aware of their option. According to my balance in account 1 and my age. I am eligible to put around 70k. I already invested around 13k 4 months ago , i will invest again whenevr i have time to go to pnb hq.

20% of acc balance = 70k

you have at least 350k in your EPF acc 1

sweeettt...  smile.gif

Clearly you dont understand what i wrote. 20% each withdrawal .withdrawal can be done every 3 months. Please dont confuse other people that is reading the thread as well. I dont have 350k. I only have around 70k above my mandatory saving in account 1. I dont even touch half of 350k.

QUOTE(lucifah @ Jan 24 2014, 10:24 PM)
let me get this straight:

you mean you can w/draw perpetually as long as your 20% is more than 1,000?

wow... learned something new  notworthy.gif
lets's say Mr Ali is 30 yrs old and has 100k in his Acc1 balance (assume his balance is static at this moment)

his mandatory savings = 27k

His eligbility = 73k

thus, in

January he can w/draw 20% of 73k = RM 14.6k

in April, he can w/draw 20% of (73k - 14.6k) = 11.6k

and for the next 3 months:

Withdrawal
Jan 14 14,600
April 14    11,680
July 14 9,344
Sept 14 7,475
Jan 15 5,980
April 15 4,784
July 15 3,827
Sept 15 3,062

am i correct with this understanding?
*
Yes sir you are correct. But if encik ali is still working in malaysia. His account balance will grow every month.

But overall the understanding is correct since u assumed his balance is static.

AS1M for bumiputra always available right? Want to open account
*
Available for the time being, but if every bumi putting their epf money in as1m then the qouta will be filled up pretty quick. I dont think that is happening very soon though because most of them do not care of the extra 1 to 2% every year. If only they know the power of compunding interest over the years surely they wont ignore it.

LTAT has given out a total dividends and bonuses at a rate of 16% or RM818.2mil for its financial year ended Dec 31, 2013 to its eligible members.

such high dividend rate shocking.gif  ASx funds all "lost" the battle to them  smile.gif

yes, but they only have a few billion under their belt while PNB have hundreds of billion to manage. It's a totally different level.

only few Billion?  shocking.gif I tot everyone working in Army compulsory need to contribute thus "size" bigger? No?  hmm.gif

Just back calculate the 16% with the divident amount. You will get the rough figure. it is no more than 6 billion while ASB fund size alone already exceed 100 billions.

Surprising, unrealistic and suspected hidden hands at work.

Do you have their annual report? Why?

Want to see which companies they invest in and I just follow. Ha Just kidding.

I think some political hidden hands are at work here to give this kind of very high return. My guess is to "reward" the armed forces to keep them in line with those at the top. Just my view.

Cheerio.

Asb also give high dividend + bonus during the first 10 years before the fund size becomes extremely bloated due to availability of cheap funding from so called asb loan scheme. And to add to that, the fund keeps on compounding due to dividend being re-invested.
