QUOTE(ckweng @ Nov 6 2014, 10:39 AM) Hey guys, do u think i should update my nexus7 (2012) to Lollipop? Afraid that it will become sluggish. Last time from JB > KK also felt that it had slowed down a bit. @.@ In my opinion, it's never a bad thing to update to the latest version of the OS.In this case, we should all the more update to Lollipop since there are promised improvements in battery life and smoothness. |

QUOTE(andyjyneo @ Nov 13 2014, 04:08 PM) Knn, both 3G 2012 and LTE 2013 version still don't have Lollipop yet. From past experience, I think it is about 2 to 3 weeks after it is officially announced. Meaning it's 2 to 3 weeks from yesterday.Don't know have to wait till when only got Lollipop. I purposely flash back to stock image to wait for Lollipop OTA. |

QUOTE(andyjyneo @ Nov 13 2014, 04:38 PM) Relaaaaax. 2-3 weeks is still fast compared to some other manufacturers that go up to 6 months-1year to get an update. Google servers may not be able to cope 300MB for every Nexus device out there. |

QUOTE(hussain @ Nov 20 2014, 10:30 AM) First of all, your PC will need these:1) Google USB Drivers 2) Minimal ADB and Fastboot 3) Lollipop image For ease of use, make sure points 2 and 3 are in the same folder. Apparently, the images cannot be sideloaded. It has to be flashed instead. In other words, your data will be lost. Here's the steps I followed: 1) Open the Command Prompt in Windows and navigate to the folder that ADB and Fastboot are installed in. Again, if you installed the full SDK, it’s in the C:\program files (x86)\android\android-sdk\platform-tools folder. Just type cd\program files (x86)\android\android-sdk\platform-tools. If it’s somewhere else, just navigate to it. Note: To make things easier so you don’t have to type out long directories, you can also paste it by pressing ALT and the Space Bar, then choose Edit, followed by Paste. 2) Assuming your device is already connected to your computer via USB and USB Debugging is enabled, you need to start it in fastboot mode. Follow one of the two methods below. A) Type adb reboot bootloader B) Turn your device off, then turn it back on while holding down the relevant key combinations for your device. For many devices it’s Volume Up + Volume Down + Power. You can see what your device’s key combinations are here. 3) The fastboot menu should appear and you should see “Start” in the top right. Press Volume Up till it changes to “Recovery.” Press the Power button to select it. 4) You will see an Android with a red exclamation point icon, press Volume Up and the Power button at the same time. 5) You will get a new menu. Navigate to apply update from adb and select it by pressing the Power button. 6) In the CMD window (make sure you are in the right directory), type: adb sideload [the full name of the file].zip (Note: without the brackets around the file name). If your device isn’t recognized, see below. 7) The update will install and reach 100%. Source: http://www.talkandroid.com/guides/beginner...links-included/ Step 6 didn't work for me (since it's sideload). I did this instead (from Google's page): 6. Execute the flash-all script. This script installs the necessary bootloader, baseband firmware(s), and operating system. Hope that helps. Good luck. |

QUOTE(garytey @ Dec 10 2014, 11:11 PM) hi, my n7 cannot switch on no matter what, asus sc charged me rm500 for repair I'm currently having the same problem. Maybe. Now, when I plug in, the unit charges, if I'm lucky. If I'm unlucky, when plugged in, it will continue to discharge. Ugh. Apparently this is a normal issue due to USB contact. Not sure if you are having the same problem. For more information: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bZFcfirYvuA If you still have some juice, install this to check power input: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=ccc71.bmw In case this is your problem, own self fix as follows: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m5FagzLdbbM I haven't fixed mine yet. Hope that helps. Good luck. Alternatively, the charging dock for the N7 will 'solve' this problem. |

QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ Dec 17 2014, 12:48 PM) No, what he meant was no need wait for OTA. Just flash straight to 5.0 yourself. But I heard reports that 5.0 OTA was taken offline. Not sure if this is accurate. You may wanna wait for 5.0.1 OTA instead. |

QUOTE(266K @ Apr 3 2015, 02:38 PM) Battery was not charging properly. It's a 'common' defect for the Nexus 7. It took me forever to charge my battery. Sometimes I plug in the battery still does not charge. Sometimes I turn off, plug it in, it still does not charge.Maybe yours is not battery problem. Try what I did. Install Battery Monitor Widget and monitor charging levels (mA) when it is plugged in. Before changing the USB, the value is -ve even when plugged in; after changing, the value is about 1000 mA when plugged in. For more information: https://forum.lowyat.net/index.php?showtopi...post&p=71939500 PS: You'd still need to purchase the new USB. This post has been edited by wonger: Apr 3 2015, 03:02 PM |

QUOTE(Jay Chua CC @ May 12 2015, 11:27 AM) Normally when i use my phone while charging, the battery still increase but slow la. With nexus 7 charging while.using will decrease the battery. Lol Bro, that is not normal d. Even if playing heavy games while charging, it will still charge provided you're using the stock 2mA charger. If you're using other lower capacity charger, then discharge during usage may happen. Will also result in slower charging.Try install the Battery Monitor widget just to monitor and double check. |

Dropped Nexus 7 2012. Screen cracked and not responsive jor.
Any suggestion on what to do next? To repair or not to repair? 1/3 of the screen is responsive. 2/3 of the screen not responsive. What does that mean? No need to replace digitizer? This post has been edited by wonger: Sep 9 2015, 09:41 AM |
