QUOTE(CPURanger @ Jun 25 2014, 04:05 PM) I have a problem with Nexus 7 (2012). After some time of using N7, the screen image suddenly "collapse" into one horizontal thin white line and it turns into blank screen. It happens within seconds. Press the power button, it came back with lock screen displayed. Attempts to unlock screen will turns it into blank screen. Press the power button again, the lock screen came back. Unlock it, it turns into blank screen. No matter what I do, it seems to trapped in a loop. Make sure its fully charged (4 hrs) since you dont use it often. Reboot once or twice. If problem persist google the stock rom and reinstall. This is to eliminate software issues. One thing for sure, the OS did not crash but it seems like hardware problem, perhaps display. Does anyone have this problem before and is there anyway to diy fix it ? I hardly use this tablet, mostly use for internet access and reading. |

Done f2fs reformat on my N7 2012 3G. Seems to be safer than Lollipop for the time being . So far so good, smoother and stable.
You need the latest TWRP which can do f2fs reformatting. A suitable f2fs rom: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2791580 You must know how to fastboot and adb your device. That's all - enjoy! |

QUOTE(WIS9000 @ Nov 27 2014, 02:17 PM) Does this means i'll need to root my lollipop N7, revert back to KK, install TWRP, perform F2FS reformatting, then only update back to Lollipop? Please advise What is the most straight forward and safest way to perform all these? Also, what apps are you guys using to connect to USB flash drives via OTG cable? Really need this function to perform my backups before trying the F2FS format. Then read the xda link provided, read the forum, follow the instructions. This will bring your device to f2fs 4.4.4 KK supposedly faster, smoother and more stable than existing. Lollipop is still in its infancy dodged with many bugs very much reported everywhere. My advice is to stay off for the time being whereas f2fs KK has many good reviews. Advice: Install f2fs KK first after flashing TWRP ( I used ver 2.8) before you format the data partition. You don't need to format system (rom) as its already in f2fs format. If you do so you will not be able to boot your device until you find a way to reinstall it again which is difficult. Again you need to know how to flash TWRP after rooting. Better get a friend to help if you are totally new to custom rom flashing. Can backup your files on your pc first before the exercise.
