Hi guys,

Anyone tried Amoil (not Amsoil) engine oil before? Heard it is manufactured from the same company as Amsoil? blink.gif
Saw quite a lot of workshop bringing in this brand. So I am quite curious about it.. hmm.gif
Any comments?

Previously I was using Castrol fully synthetic and my engine was consuming engine oil and tappet sound was obvious. I went to my mechanic to open up the top head and seal back with their glue, also seal some part that we suspect was causing the leak.

The best engine oil on the shelf that time was Amoil so I have to take it. The result was surprisingly good. Engine is not consuming engine oil anymore, tappet sound was gone and engine is smooth. Just maybe needs a bit more effort to revv to higher rpm.

So I was wondering...should I stick to this Amoil engine oil? (It is B3/B4 rated)

yes, it is amoil..not the famous amsoil. I have a bottle of liqui moly and 1 can of ceratec ready, so in case I find out this oil might causing potential trouble to my 4age engine, I would immediately change it.

performance good or not remains to be seen
but it should not cause damage to the engine AS LONG AS its not fake oil(as in used recycle oil)

Google it up and found its website. This oil is made in Malaysia. hmm.gif

"Amoil (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was established in 1996 and has been engaged in the business of manufacturing and marketing high quality petroleum products for top brands from the United States of America and across the globe into the Malaysia."

Cool, any complains on amoil?
How was amoil compared to liqui moly in terms of smoothness and performance? Huge difference?
So far my car is loving amoil, smooth acceleration even to 7k rpm. Quite surprised.

Thanks. Maybe after 5k km or when the engine starts to feel sluggish I would switch to liqui moly. Feels wasted to throw away fresh oil. sweat.gif

Amoil - "The Amercian Oil" as their logo says is a local mainly SMI commercial lubricant manufacturer that claimed to have joint venture with an American based company (what company? NOT disclosed).

Beware of local lubricant manufacturers that claim that their lubricants are of "USA or German Technology". The only connection with USA or Germany is the additive packages are probably made in USA, to lesser extent, Germany. Many of these manufacturers are not ethical. The "technical connection" with USA or Germany is very skeptical.

It takes millions of dollars for a major oil company such as SHELL, BP/CASTROL, FUCHS, EXXON-MOBIL, Q8 to develop and field test a particular engine oil before they are marketed worldwide. I would rather stick with the engine oils from any of these major oil companies as long as I know the source is reliable (not counterfeit).

"STOPOIL" is a SMI local lubricant manufacturer of similar caterogry as "AMOIL". It should not be compared with PETRONAS, SHELL & ENEOS (NIPPON OIL)

AMOIL brand...seems like the same local distributor for the famous AMSOIL is trying to confuse buyers and rides on people buying the wrong brand...I wont risk my engine with it.

This.

This local company making Amoil is just a distributor...how to trust what oil they put in? Most likely just cheap Oem oil ....like Tesco brand.
