should be the dog eat unhealthy food wic is expired and not frequent shower...

I never had this problem with my dogs before ...your dog is having skin problem ?

I bath him once in 2 weeks,he is eating good food.
Just that someone said that he got fungus because there are red spots on his skin,only a few.

You sure is fungus? Only vet can tell if it is fungus unless you got a black light at home and shine on your dog.

If it is blotchy red with some flaky skin.... and the red patches are slightly wet to the feel, then it could be fungus.

DO NOT USE HUMAN SHAMPOO.... sunsilk... mygoodness, later dog become bald from dry skin later loh...

Go to petshop, ask for SULPHUR SHAMPOO for dogs. Or go to vet and buy Malaseb(I think that is how you spell.... around RM40 plus I think).

Its just like reddish spot,only a few on his body.

I think its itchy, because he always lick and bite it.

Wuwuw... another sign of fungus also. Get sulphur shampoo. It kills the itch and soothes the skin.

Change food maybe? My friend has a MS, the skin very healthy after changing to a natural diet.

dogfood is 1st time she sensitive...i changed her food...den ok alredi...recently,dunno wat she ate...sensitive again...n this time i throw away all her treats(coz some of the treats may got chicken oil)...but she still itchy n got red spot....she is eating nutro choice lamb n rice...if u continue sensitive,planning to change to fish,blackwood....headache~pity her when i see her scratch...

My dog cannot eat Nutro, drop fur damn alot an become itchy. Science Diet makes her shed also.

So far, I'm very happy with California Natural. It is formulated for sensitive skin and itchy skin.... maybe you can go petshop and ask for sample packs.

Your dog allergic to chicken ah? They got 2 varieties. One is chicken and rice, now got fish and potatoes.

No, fruits won't cause such problems. I'm guessing something external and not the food since CN is for dogs with sensitive skin. Have to check with vet loh.

Fala loves bananas ...but right after feeding her some , then her tumtum will have pimple-like thingy popped out , can see the pus sometime ..so I stop feeding her bananas ..but she's okay with other frruits like apple , grapes , watermelon and honey dew

if the stomach area have red spots then most probably is the food....this is wat i'm told....i'm using nutri edge for my puppy as well and think that its quite good....one pet shop recommend me eaglepack but i'm not sure how good it is....but if got problem then change food better lo....if not then nvm...haha by the way nutri edge also can buy at cheras taman pertama...i buy from there.

If I'm not mistaken the starch from certain foods (ie. roots/vege's like carrots,yam,banana) does have some effect. It something to do with the way the starch is broken into sugar. Some dogs can manage it,some can't. I guess it's an individual thing.
I guess if ur really want to find out what's causing the problem,maybe u could try eliminting the variables?

please check your dog food ingredient see whether it got contain corn and wheat or not, it may cause your dog allergic too

Mine is California Natural and it seems ok.

Hi my little Shih Tzu also had been scratching on the front armpits and chest area. So much so that it has become pretty red and nasty. Yesterday evening I took to the vet in Cheras whom after scraping off several sections of hair and skin looked under the microscope.

There can be a few reasons this itchiness occurs. He ruled out mites (undetected) but managed to see he has some fungus and a little yeast (which was not alarming). He also ruled out mange since it manifests only at the front area and not near the rump and behind ears.

As my boy is only 4 months old, he's not keen to start on an oral antifungal as this may impair his liver function (growing puppy still). He recommended this great antifungal shampoo called Sebazole from Virbac (RM40) to be used twice a week for a month. He also prescribed some anti itch and antibiotics (secondary infection) oral. He's afraid that for creams, poor boy can lick it and get an upset stomach.

The shampoo lathers easily and must be massaged into his skin for 20-25 minutes to take effect. Next week I'll bring him back to see if there's any improvement. If not, then a mild dose of oral antifungal will be prescribed.

Some dogs are just more predisposed to fungal and skin infections. We can only try as much to lower the flare ups and watching his diet. I've heard that chicken increases the risk whereas lamb & rice is a better option. My pup's on lamb and rice but still this happens

Please seek treatment fast cos if this prolongs you'll need to deal with more.

Hi just to share that my little pup died today after being admitted in the afternoon. After he came home from the vet on Friday evening, he showed lethargic signs and was very quiet. This was also the case the whole of yesterday. So this morning I took him to the vet again.

After taking x-rays there was apparently gas distension in his stomach which was causing pain. Just like when we get bloated from 'angin'. He advised best to let him overnight for observations and we agreed.

Just now about 4pm, the vet called to say that my pup was having breathing difficulties and turned blue. They tried to put him on oxygen resuscitation but he couldn't make it. I'm soooo sad and upset. He was only 4 months old and the vet promised that this wasn't life threatening. I even said "OK, I'll be seeing him tomorrow right?" and the vet said yes. Looks like they're just empty promises.

It's probably either allergies, pastilles or eczyma. Best to check with a vet. If you suspect it's allergies, try ruling out certain foods to see if it improves. But I'd strongly advise to go see a vet to try and find out what it is.

Sorry for your loss...
But just to say, vets are doctors, they are not god therefore cannot guarantee a life unless they have proof of it. But I guess this vet made a mistake. He probably saw no life-threatening conditions or symptoms the pup was undergoing, so he probably considered it not a concern. The pup was admitted for observation, there was not a 100% guaranteed analysis of what the pup had.
As for the food, lamb is prescribed for dogs with allergies because most dogs that have allergies tend to be allergic to chicken. Dogs tend to be less allergic to lamb and if I'm not mistaken lamb also has skin benefiting ingredients. Sebazole is good for skin problems but I find Malaseb more worth it because Sebazole is very watery and people tend to slab a bit too much unnoticingly compared to Malaseb. But Sebazole and Malaseb is not entirely the same, so mayb he prescribed it to treat your pup best.

There is a petshop in Plaza Damas that sells all the holistic and unique brands that are hard to come by. They also have California Natural along with other brands that look interesting. They have many sample packs available.
It's called PetsPeople. One of my syrians are also displayed there.

I got mine from there as well.

I've been to that place before too. I like the owners of the shop, really friendly and so dedicated to their work. Every Saturday I know my friends along with the pet rescue group go there to promote the pups and dogs there.
