will do that once I finished downloading this patch and start playing which is like 4 hours later
which server should I play in, the legacy servers probably won't suit a newbie like me

choosing server right now is kinda hard since the lockdown in creating new character on you fav server...i guess you can go for ultima server or smth for non legacy...but i do recommend you to enter masamune (legacy server) since we have a helpful FC over there lead by shojikun and i believe he is willing to help newbie like you provided joining masamune is possible right now tongue.gif

Not entirely but if you buy R1 (NA/US Region) your account need to be NA Acct as well.. just that in game is Region Free.

o okay. So that means if I'm planning to sub for EU account and eligible for future updates/patch, then I shall buy the R2 version and registered with EU Square Enix account. Just that when choosing server we can either choose NA/EU or JP server right??
As I was only console gamer, so I wanna ask if PC physical disc also have those region differences like R2, R1 and R3? If so, how do they differentiate it? Also similar with PS3 where

R1 - NA
R2 - EU / UK
R3 - Asia
?

Thanks for clarification smile.gif

even joining Gilgamesh is hard right now sweat.gif
and I can't create a character now because of the lock down right
so this means I will still have to wait for the official launch
I guess I'll just stick to my beta character and practice using the controls laugh.gif
I'll just create a new character after official launch and probably join the new server where most other LYN members go to biggrin.gif

yes for ps3 the r2 would be EU/UK version and no issue in which server u can join from what version you are buying instead the version you are buying will determine the type of payment(currency) for your account

I see. How about for the PC? How do they differentiate the Region? Is it also by R2,R1,R3?
Will most likely buy the PC version cos my PS3 has been YLOD since last year. bummer

Region just determines your currency payment. Its selected the first time you sign up and has no impact on actual gameplay or realm selection.

pc does not have these kind of region recognition...we just buy from the online store with the version stated or go through some validation such as non NA ip will be treated as EU (for gmg)

This is true, for PS3 is R1 & R2, R3 is usually JPN only.

but for PC is NA, EU & JP region. if you're using EU account, then EU region, NA account, then NA Region is required for account side.

In Game both PS3 & PC no region lock. in-game can freely choose which ever server they have. NA/EU or JP. NA/EU same datacenter. Just the Time server is different.

Used to play Tonberry during closed beta but I heard it's near impossible to get in right now. Me and my friends are considering moving to Tiamat.
