Still waiting for legacy player discuss more about it, seam both not impact so much on end game, but which 30 point worth to add up. I more concern about end game gear which have variety types if i not wrong. One of this is skill speed. Not sure how much it will impact the game play thou. rclxub.gif rclxub.gif

erm noob question here...why is it need to debate between str and dex? since if not mistaken dex add range dmg and this seems useless for gld? imho str would be better to increase their dmg for better emity generation? or is there any hidden facts that is not reveal through the benefit of dex?

It is a class designed to shout "IN YOUR FACE!".
So my usual stats of choice is VIT and DEX. If i want to DPS, i am better off levelling a Lancer or Pugilist.

DEX is for block and parry chance.
VIT for bigger HP pool. The old saying goes.... the more the better!

Enmity generation for GLA is mostly thru skills, like Savage blade, Flash and Rage of Halone (My favourite!).
To me, a GLA/PLD will never out dps a pure dps class, else all the dps class will be raging at PLD calling them imbalance! tongue.gif
We rely on skill with extra enmity generation for the job. Just my two cents...

There are no hidden facts anymore iinm. Back in 1.0, PIE used to increase ranged damage for Bards lulz. I guess stat allocation will be purely on the basis of improving EHP and emnity-generation. What I want to know is whether stat caps are still present or not.

oh my bad cause i read it wrongly for STR...thought is the chance for blk and parry but instead is the amount of mitigation from blk and parry...i guess high dex would be nice but not that high than str...maybe like 10 str 15 dex? or 20? i duno haha

Which is a better tanker
Paladin or Marauder?

I heard rumors fly around that Marauder can do a better job as in (AOE tank, and it can be off-tank too)?

But it appears to me that Paladin is like a pure tanker?

Anyone can shed some light? or share some external link?

Thank you

only use taunt for taking back Monster who loose gate. smile.gif and is actually Provoke. use your combo Fast Blade & Savage Blade as they are the most common enmity generator for a GLA,

To start, first with Shield Lob Lv.15 Class quest skill. then Flash if there is more than 1 mob, then do your Combo Fast Blade & Savage Blade.

Try to rotate your combo to different target as well. This way your DPS can dish out faster AOE damage on all monsters.

Flash is well not exactly what you think as a Taunt, the Flash skill generate Enmity but do not have high enmity give back, so spamming Flash does not retain hate.

I usually do this :

1) Pull mob with shield lob.
2) Start with savage blade for first attack, usually in dungeon, when pulling one mob will result in 2 or 3. (I have tanked up to Haukke Manor, not yet tried the rest).
3) Flash when the other mobs surround you.
4) Another savage blade on main mob.
5) Start rotating Savage blade on the other 2 mob.
6) Comes back to my first mob, savage blade again.
7) Another flash for insurance (Especially if you have archer in the group, they do damage real fast)
8) After that it is pretty much tank depending on situation....

I also have a habit of moving to the next mob, when the main one has less than 10% health. I start building enmity on the second, so when the DPS comes in i don't lose it.
That is just me, i suppose at high level, tanking may be totally different....

Btw, if you read the tool tip of the skill only Savage blade have additional enmity generation. Fast blade is just regular attack. So it is worth while to spam savage blade at the start to get enough hate on you...

I also agree on this, from the few dungeon i am tanking in, i have come to the conclusion that flash skill hate does not stick. It is a one time enmity generation, which loses it value over a period of time. So best to stick in a few savage blade to make it stick.
