I'm not sure if I'm at the right place to ask. There's EU and NA version from the infos, but what the servers, tonberry and masamune is.. JP's server, right? If so, will getting EU version of the game let me play in JP's server?
EDIT: So should I follow the info to register o EU or should I have my account on JP?
*
Yes, as you can play in any server really.
The only differences between JP, US & EU version is the payment option and which S-E website you need register.

If you're in Malaysia, it's recommended you get EU version because its game card is easier to find here.
Also only EU accepts our cards for some reason, didn't try paying through steam wallet yet though.

Okay. Thanks. smile.gif Where do you guys get the copy though?
EDIT: Ah.. Tonberry has been restricted for new players to go in. Any other server should I get in? (I'm playing the trial for now)

I bought from steam when it was on sale. You can just find someone who sells the EU version here: http://www.steamtrades.com/forum/search/xiv

If you don't mind waiting, Tonberry will lose its restriction 3am onwards.

Quick question, if someone gifts you a copy of the game, can I activate it on steam?

Got a friend in the UK who bought two copies and wants to give me one. Can it work?
*
Yes can activate no problem.
Mine is like that.

Just login into your account here: https://secure.square-enix.com
In it, click Select Service then FFXIV.

Oh yeah...make sure you bought the right version.
NA version can only be activated in NA account, and vice versa for EU.

can I ask where did you buy it? My friend in UK wants to buy the key from G2A.com and give me one, but I hear they're not that trustworthy.
*
You can buy from traders here: http://www.steamtrades.com/forum/search/xiv
Make sure you choose traders who have plenty of green rep.
