1) is not free to play, free trial and free to play are two different terminology. many confuse this two.
2) there actually a lot of restriction that make it feel more Single Player mode than being in MMO (can't use market board, can't hire retainer, limited maximum gils), you cannot reply a tell/whisper, you cannot join Free Company (guild), and many more.
3) most challenging content you can go and feel is with going Bahamut & Alexander Raid on Synching Level & ILevel.
4) Absolutely MSQ Focus, a lot of harder content are lock behind MSQs.


Once you're done with both ARR & HW content, you be left wanting more? join the current raid tier? Ultimate level raids for harder content?

it opens up a lot once you go sub as well.

Crafting/Gathering is hell in Free Trial because you can't sell your wares in market board.

well thing about this is they wont probably be able to add to your account if you already own the game. you can only try to upgrade via mog station to complete edition.

Mostly just play whatever you want, this game almost everything is lock behind the MSQ (Main Scenario Quest) which only battle class/jobs can progress it.
Crafting & Gathering classes are side thing you can do anytime.

Most of all enjoy the game and it's lore stories the most. first part A Realm Reborn will be abit daunting or boring, as it is introduction phase. You're a nobody and just starting up till lvl 50.

Also ensure in the duty finder, click the cog wheel settings, tick all language.

Use auto translate for communication, ur in masamune, so more JP players here. ><

For free trial, is really enjoy for the single player aspect. try to play around with the auto translate chat in game, usefull when going dungeon later on at level 15+

Most of us play in JP datacenter (ping ranging from 70ms to 150ms), mostly are on NA/EU accounts.

Cheapest is still from SquareEnix or other site and not Steam. Never recommend steam as is only thru steam only you can upgrade.

Mogstation is for subscription and managing only.
SquareEnix Webstore is the only for buying merchandise and the game.
FFXIV online store is their in game items store.

very different, at HW, they hired better studio to do the MSQ's voice over. even more so in SB and in SHB expansion, it get's better and better :3 thou that just my imo xD

never, and we never buy from steam. because u need to be in region to even buy it :3 and ur stuck to steam forever, which mean u can't buy other place and put in key. doesn't work that way for steam version.

once u go steam, u can never go back, all expansion u need to buy in STEAM only.
