errr... in my opinion, it may be unfair to compare these 2 pictures. both are not the same object and scene. there may be some diff in lighting condition or any other factors.

to be fair comparison, pictures are to be taken at the same object at about the same time. this way we can almost be sure and safe to assume that the surrounding condition is the same for the comparison picture.

Depends on the zoom level as well. On the fully wide end movement shakes are less obvious when compared to telephoto.

Technicality aside, seems like it could be the result of over aggressive noise reduction, that caused the hair to look blurry.

i think your comment is quite reasonable, given  than Z1 uses bigger sensor and thus performs better in low light condition.

and surprising HTC One performs not quite up to expectation despite all the ultra pixel thingy. maybe the 4mp do have the limitation.

and for me, no need to compare to 1020 as i will not buy WP OS phone now no matter how good the camera is.

Actually most compact cameras do have OIS.

Most DSLR lenses with IS comes with 3 to 4 stops. 1/60 is quite comfy, with 3 stops IS, it is like shooting at 1/500

Like I said, most camera phones (and a lot of the conventional compact cameras) have heavy Noise Reduction applied on the JPEGs so that it is more usable in higher ISOs. But of course, what you get is blotchy details all over

Z1 - f2.0
so f2.2 is bigger right? what does this means actually? what the advantage of having bigger aperture?

sensor size:
Z1 - 1/2.3"
IP5s - increased by15%... so how big is it?
with bigger sensor means capturing more light???

1080p 60fps? can it be tweaked if its not? then pointless getting this phone since its main features are camera, galaxy note 3 beats it handsdown.

for me Z1 specs is enough... waiting till Z2 spec confirm... if just a bit bump + features that I rarely care such as the audio chip, 4k recording... I will get the Z1... cheaper price and hopefully with ZU panel... IGZO panel might be better but if due to this bump+a bit processor+ram bump plus other spec that I don't care much... I'll buy Z1...

- camera photo quality nearly QX100/ Nex series
- bigger battery

than I will get Z2...

im still holding these LCD panel lotteries claim, i believe they may have leftover, but from the organization point of view, those lower grade LCD can always be put in lower end phone, hence no problem depleting stocks.

Second point is, although im not 100% sure, the Tri-luminous and some enhancement over the screen should be tie to the display quality,  is not all screen can be claim Tri-luminous or what. Else Sony will facing a big liability issue by claiming their product Tri-Luminous but supplying none.

The thing is, from most of the hands on, there are variance in display quality, my suspect is Tri-luminous display panel supply hasn't stable yet, and Sony rushing to produce the phone for IFA, or any strategic timing, thus the sample phone might use the old panel. But their main point showing off for product introduction is the camera, smoothness, and the phone capability. ZU has gain Sony some good reputation in screen and introducing those Tri-luminous, x reality and opti contrast, so they focus on another agenda this time. But reviewer is always nit picking on stuff and Sony can always said those are beta product, is not final version, all preview may not held 100% product offer in market.

Lastly, Sony using multiple manufacturer for the display panel is true, no organization will focus on one supplier, that would be risky, for the quality of multiple manufacturer, im not sure on display quality. Sony is not stupid, for all the nay sayer or observer, please wait til the actual product offer in the market before comment. All preview unit might not represent the final unit.

*one more note, wondering if Malaysia has Samsung hired bashing boy like oversea, heheheheh.

Z1 vs Nokia 1020 camera review

1/1.2" or 1" sensor size definitely have to sacrifice the thickness already, unless sony got some magic up their sleeves able to put in such a huge sensor in a slim profile

actually its considered impressive already they able to put in a 1/2.3" sensor into the slim body of Z1

Sony love but no skill in post processing. Lousy skill, too lousy! over noise filtering, over size reduce.

Every single photos I take using XiaoMi is around 3.5MB to 4.7MB and XiaoMi make 16:9 ratio as 10MP intead of 8MP.

After I use the XiaoMi, I look more down on Sony! How could Sony keep repeating history!

In DSLR, Nikon use Sony sensor but output always greater than Sony itself DSLT.

Now in mobile camera, people also did much greater than Sony itself!
