I am having a synology 211J which bought in 2010 ..

having some problem needs your comment and advice ..

1) after updating the DSM to 6.1 version .. the loading time on synology assistant become very slow on loading to browser ..

I am using mac mini High sierra OS on chrome ..(on unifi 50M connection )

the loading time on browser .. require about 40 seconds to load complete .. ( on my stopwatch count )

which i consider very slow .

any local malaysia .. encounter the slow loading on DSM 6.1

I had google abit but do not seems to get the satisfy solution .


please advice and comment further .

2) understand that my 211 J is 2010 spec with only 1.2Ghz and 128MB ..maybe could not perform to the standard of DSM 6.1 ( latest update )

will you think that if i upgrade to a latest synology 2 bay ( ds 718 + ).. this issue will be smoother
on the loading .. ???

3) if i take out my 2 HDD from my 211J to insert into my DS718 + .. will it works on plug and play .. or do i need to format my 2 HDD on DS718 +

please advise

4) what if i consider change my NAS to asustor ( AS 3102 ) and keep my 2 HDD to this NAS .. surely I need to fo format .. ... Right >..??

5) any local malaysia Asustor AS 3102 can please comment comment on your experiences of usage ..( I like it bcos of HDMI .. can hookup to my home theater system
