okay now question time
1. How do i setup the NAS based on my network? This is what i think it is atm
PC<LAN cable/wireless<Router/Modem>LAN port>NAS
This is the usual setup right?
2. Using Maxis 10Mbps FTTH with default router atm, im quite concerned on how much will the bandwidth be eaten during my regular backups to the NAS as i have other family members using the same connection as well. Not to mention, what are my achievable read/write speeds through the NAS? is it extremely dependent on the Internet im currently subscribed to? Will be using this to stream FHD movies and standard MP3/FLAC songs.
really sorry for asking stupid questions and for spoon feeding, but i need a crash course regarding setting up a DIY NAS (been reading for days and hours but my mind seems to be ughh)
i would appreciate it alot too if someone is willing to take the time to recommend and guide me on DIY NAS. or even a better choice version in the event DIY isnt so feasible
i used to eye the WD MYCloud quite alot, but then the lack of expansion and upgradability puts me off
EDIT: might be setting up the NAS in a different floor of my router too, by connecting through Homeplugs. what are the issues that may arise from this setup?
