In searching for the right gynae or hospital for your routine women health check and if you are preparing yourselves for a baby bump, the factors to consider are the affordability, experience, working style, experience, knowledge, recommendations, distance from home...


Government hospitals have a more complete set of medical equipments to handle complications or emergencies. And best of all, their fees are cheap! The downside is the dreadful waiting time, for regular appointments, special tests like HSG, endocrine tests, or the various treatment. Generally private hospitals offer more experienced and capable doctors, better quality customer service, comfortable rooms, facilities (because their charges are high).

Can you recommend a good lady gynae if you have come across one?

i think first visit is normal, and i think follow up is like RM60-70. well at least a while back. dunno about now. unless you start doing tests and stuff.

My gynae clinic charged RM60 for consultation. Usually hospital will be more expensive, even if is the same doctor, who operate a private clinic.

Hosp takes a huge chunk from the bill.... About 40%

I went to Dr. Soh & Loo at Klang.

I don't know whether consider good or not, depends on your needs and whether you are comfortable with the doctor. His wife, Dr. Loo seems to be more famous, dunno whether is it female doctor more caring or women patient prefer women doctor.

Anyway, I am a biomedical grad myself, so I don't ask the gynae alot of question. All I want is a swift vaginal delivery without doctor overcharging me and coerce me for c-sect. I got that during my first delivery with Dr. Soh. So I'm still sticking with him for my second child. My entire pregnancy was very normal, so I don't know his skill when it comes to handling complication or high risk pregnancy.

To be honest, you don't need to specifically go to a gynaecologist to ensure you're healthy before getting a baby. A good family doctor, or a family physician is more than enough to give you proper advice on what are the types of blood test that need to be taken to screen for hereditary diseases (like thalassaemia), metabolic diseases (diabetes, lipids), get your blood pressure checked and infection diseases (like Hep B/C/HIV or any other venereal diseases).

Unless you have difficulty in conceiving, then yes, you should see a gynae instead.

I just visited Dr Kamaljit Kaur... She quite a friendly lady and she teaches me where to go in order save cost since I'm on treatment from GH..

The long list is a lovely surprise.

Dr Vijayavel is pretty good to especially with pregnancy carepregnancy care and ovarian cystovarian cyst

So far I go to Dr Tan EE Ping in Serdang at her own clinic and also klinik kesihatan.

Dr Tan is good but long quee la. Need early appointment. u can call 012-3229820 or 03-89453293 for appointment but the nurse sometimes busy to answer call.

Now that some months have passed, I wanted to update my review on Dr K.K Iswaran from Prince Court. I have received really great care from My Gynae. He was very attentive, courteous and professional and the nurses are always outstanding. He emphasis on normal delivery and always gave me courage to go for normal delivery. Dr.K.K Iswaran clinic are incredibly grateful for the pregnancy treatment and the expertise you will experience once you will visit there, during the process of treatment with the help of Dr K.K Iswaran. You would like to thank the wonderful Doctor and staff!!!

He was instrumental in establishing the First Public IVF Centre at Hospital Kuala Lumpur.

Can anyone recommend good gynae who can look into men's problem ?

I'll be honest, I want to get a pre-cnonception check up, but also want to get a medical card soon, anyone got any experience in this field? Whether pre-ceonception checkups affects medical card prices in anyway?
